SPECIALIZATION PROGRAMS

is program provides students with an initial specialization in the management of cultural content and activities. Stu-dents can choose to broaden their knowledge of history and art or heritage-related matters, or to combine both aspects. e program also includes sub-jects that provide students with knowledge and skills as-sociated with the funding and marketing of cultural activities and services.

is is an official specialization, and students must take 48 ECTS credits.

is academic year (2014- 2015), the School of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Museum University of Navarra have launched the Diploma in Curatorial Studies (60 ECTS credits) with the aim of training students to become professionals with the humanistic, technical and interdisciplinary skills that will enable them to generate ideas and projects resulting in exhi-bitions.

Curators are professionals capable of creating artistic projects with a view to communicating and disseminating them to the public. eir fundamental task is to design the project narrative, research its content, suggest new approaches and interpretations, coordinate its implementation and execution, plan educational programs and improve its visibility. When the project is exhibited, curators are also responsible for ensuring that the discourse is visually effective and integrates seamlessly with the space in which it is presented.

e Diploma in Curatorial Studies is linked to the teaching projects undertaken by the Museum University of Navarra. ose studying the diploma program will have the opportunity to hold meetings with the art curators of temporary exhibitions, assist with creative projects undertaken by guest artists and converse with these artists. ey will have the opportunity to participate in public programming and performing arts activities and attend sessions held by professionals from the areas of conservation, art criticism and the media.

INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM

PROFESSIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

Among the key objectives set by the University of Navarra a few years ago was its international dimension. In other words, it seeks to promote a global mind-set within the institution itself, among the staff and faculty and, of course, among the students.

We want our students to be fa-miliar with different languages and cultures, to understand the world they live in, to be able to adapt to various settings and to recognize their potential as leaders in a global world. To achieve this, the School of Hu-manities and Social Sciences has developed an International Pro-gram for all single and double degrees:

e School’s International Office supports and advises students who pursue this program. It also manages the partnership agreements with more than 60 universities in 20 different countries. Some of our partner universities are:

• Monash University, Australia.• The University of Hong Kong, China.• Calgary University, Canada.• Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Chile.• The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel.• Università degli Studi di Roma “La Sapienza,” Italy.• Universität Heidelberg, Germany.• Oxford Brookes University, United Kingdom• Eötvös Loránd University, Hungary.

Given its interdisciplinary ap-proach, the Degree in Humanities is a versatile program that enables graduates to embark on a wide range of career paths.

We are proud to say that over 96% of Humanities graduates from the University of Navarre are currently employed.

e majority of our graduates work in business (60%): due to their specialized training a growing number of Humanities graduates work in marketing and human re-sources. Another 20% work in cul-tural management, which is a rap-idly developing sector. Another professional profile for our gradu-ates is teaching (13%) thanks to the wide range of subjects they study on the program, including languages, literature, history, phi-losophy, psychology, geography, art, anthropology, etc.

At the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, we are committed to enabling our students to find work, which is why – from the outset – we provide them with the support they need to design their own careers.

e Degree in Humanities curricu-lum includes obligatory intern-ships. Students engage with the professional world on three occa-

sions during the program: 2nd Year (professional seminars), 3rd year (Practicum I) and 4th year (Practicum II). Such contact gives students first-hand knowledge of the many and varied professional opportunities available to our graduates.
