New England College traces its roots to 1946, a time when service men and women returning home from World War II were eager to get their college education with the help of the new GI Bill®. Academic visionary and entrepreneur Boone Tillet chose Henniker, New Hampshire, as the perfect site for a new college dedicated to educating these veterans.

Three years later, enrollment at NEC had more than quadrupled. Our growth continued for the next 60 years as the college attracted students from all walks of life. In response to this rapid influx, the college added new programs, faculty and campus facilities.

From WWII GIs to today’s students, NEC has guided and inspired thousands to reach their professional and personal goals. Building upon its educational mission, NEC has now evolved to reach an even greater number of people looking for a new start. Through a collaboration with University Alliance, a division of Bisk Education, Inc., NEC has expanded its creative and supportive learning community to include degree and certificate programs online.

GI Bill® is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). More information about education benefits offered by VA is available at the official U.S. government web site at www.benefits.va.gov/gibill.

A Collaborative Online Environment

“Taking just the one class every seven weeks it made it extremely manageable. This is quite an achievement at 45 years old.”

Kristina DiMartino | BA in Business Administration/Marketing

Students in our online undergraduate degree and certificate programs are immersed in an open, inviting learning environment where they are part of a larger academic community. Through the technology and support services of University Alliance, these programs offer an opportunity to experience the same comprehensive, high-quality academics and student-focused approach to education as traditional on-campus students.

The only difference lies in the programs’ delivery. The online classroom provides 24/7 access to your courses with no specified login times required, allowing you to study wherever and whenever you choose, using your desktop or mobile device. While you’re online, enjoy instructor-led videos that can be streamed or downloaded, real-time collaboration with classmates, one-on-one faculty attention and much more. Student Spotlights

Cameron Grant, BS in Healthcare Administration

“The support offered by NEC, coupled with the support system that I have at home, is really what made me successful as an online student. My advisor was very good at communicating and she was very in tune to my idiosyncrasies as a student. I am very much a ‘type A’ personality. And I need to have control over my own life at all times, so she was very good about getting me enrolled in my next class so I could plan.”

Betti Schlagel, AA in Business Administration

“In my experience with NEC, the faculty were pretty amazing. Anytime I had a question or needed help, my professors always responded in a timely fashion. I mostly did my classes at night after work so the next day I always had an answer in my email. I had a lot of support as they helped in many ways, referring me to resources like different websites and links to further my education – more than just the textbook.”

Crystal Hunter, BS in Healthcare Administration

“The NEC instructors are so personable, it’s like family. They actually care about you. They take the time to call you and they were always willing to work with me. I actually went to another institution before I came to NEC and always felt like I was a rat in a maze … like people didn’t care about my goals and making sure I reached them. But with NEC, I always felt like everyone was willing to go the extra mile.”
