Lot Fourteen is located on the traditional lands of the Kaurna people. We acknowledge the cultural authority of the Kaurna people, and respect their enduring spiritual relationship with and responsibility for their Country. We also extend acknowledgment and respect to all other First Nations people and communities of Australia.

We are building on South Australia’s existing strengths in the defence, space, hi-tech, cyber and creative industries to attract globally-recognised companies to establish in Adelaide. They are being drawn by a connected ecosystem that delivers collaboration and partnerships between enterprises, universities and research organisations.

An impressive list of organisations has already moved in, including the Australian Space Agency, the Australian Institute for Machine Learning, Stone & Chalk, Google Cloud Services, Amazon Web Services, and the Australian Cyber Collaboration Centre (A3C). In early 2021, the Australian Space Discovery Centre and Mission Control Centre opened their doors at Lot Fourteen.

In the next 10 years, capital and operational expenditure in Lot Fourteen will generate $3.5 billion in economic activity for South Australia. In 2021, more than 1,000 people are undertaking business, working, researching and studying here. This number will grow to a workforce of 6,000 researchers, entrepreneurs, innovators and students when the development of Lot Fourteen is completed.

Lot Fourteen is backed by the Australian and state governments with a total $722 million commitment, including the $649 million Adelaide City Deal. This supports exciting major projects for Lot Fourteen, including the flagship circa $400 million, 16-storey Entrepreneur and Innovation Centre and Innovation Hub, The Circle – First Nations Entrepreneur Hub,

the globally significant $200 million Aboriginal Art and Cultures Centre, and the International Centre for Food, Hospitality and Tourism Studies.

Lot Fourteen will support businesses at all stages – from startups to scale-ups and beyond, through the Innovation Hub in the Entrepreneur and Innovation Centre, The Circle – First Nations Entrepreneur Hub, and the Stone & Chalk startup hub, powered by the Future Industries eXchange for Entrepreneurship (FIXE). This will be achieved via access to mentoring, business coaching, venture capital services and connecting research and industry with our best and brightest people.

For more than 60,000 years, the land now occupied by Lot Fourteen has been integral to the Kaurna people. The development of the Aboriginal Art and Cultures Centre at the precinct will showcase the rich, diverse and enduring cultures of Australia’s First Nations Peoples to South Australians and visitors to our state.

I welcome you to explore Lot Fourteen and together we can shape the future of South Australia.

Hon. Steven Marshall MPPREMIER OF SOUTH AUSTRALIA

At Lot Fourteen, we are creating a global precinct that is fostering jobs and growing skills in high growth industries at an exciting destination that will attract hundreds of thousands of national and international visitors annually when completed.

At Lot Fourteen, we are creating a global precinct - focussed on innovation, entrepreneurship, research, education, culture, and tourism - to grow jobs and the South Australian economy.

Lot Fourteen is an integral part of South Australia’s innovation ecosystem, which brings together research, education, industry and government. Lot Fourteen links and leverages connections with the Tonsley Innovation District, Adelaide BioMed City, Osborne Naval Shipyard, Edinburgh Defence Precinct, Technology Park and Waite Research Institute to provide a wealth of choice for various industries and enterprises to establish and grow in South Australia.

The six State Heritage listed buildings at Lot Fourteen have been refurbished to a 6 Star Green Star environmental standard, setting a new national standard for adaptive reuse. Our workspaces provide an exciting environment for a range of companies, startups and organisations from the hi-tech, space, defence and creative industries.

We have started the next wave of development at Lot Fourteen. The circa $400 million Entrepreneur and Innovation Centre, with the Innovation Hub, to be delivered by Australian owned property private equity company Quintessential Equity, will be the flagship building in the centre of the precinct. It will provide a single, secure location for industries, entrepreneurs, researchers and universities to commercialise and launch South Australian ideas and innovations to the global market.

The International Centre for Food, Hospitality and Tourism Studies will build on South Australia’s

strong reputation for food and wine. The facility will bring together existing leading vocational training academies at a single location to provide world-leading training for South Australian students and attract more international students.

These two developments will partner with the private sector to leverage capacity building, capital investment and skills development.

Our aim is to create a vibrant and engaging precinct that is open to everyone. Attractive public spaces take their lead from the neighbouring Adelaide Botanic Garden, the cultural

We are collaborating to identify new employment and business opportunities for Aboriginal people, and to nurture new generations of leaders.

The Circle – First Nations Entrepreneur Hub will offer a physical and virtual support platform for South Australian Aboriginal businesses, linking them to industry and business development opportunities. The Hub will also foster Aboriginal innovation, entrepreneurship and employment.

Aboriginal people and businesses are integral to Lot Fourteen, contributing to precinct management, demolition services, cultural heritage management and the provision of

professional consulting services for the development of The Circle – First Nations Entrepreneur Hub and the Aboriginal Art and Cultures Centre (AACC).

The AACC (see reference design on page 8) will position South Australia as the gateway to the oldest living cultures in the world. Extraordinary immersive experiences, fusing traditional storytelling and modern technology, will attract tourists from around the globe. What’s more, the Centre will offer a range of career and business opportunities for Aboriginal people, while nurturing new generations of Aboriginal arts practitioners, workers and visionaries.

At Lot Fourteen, we work closely with Aboriginal Communities and are proudly committed to supporting the empowerment of First Nations Peoples.

More than 700 people gathered in Frome Park for a smoking ceremony, led by Allan Sumner (pictured), to heal and cleanse the site and to celebrate re-connection to the land (November 2019).

The Australian Space Discovery Centre, Ground Floor, McEwin Building, Lot Fourteen.

The Australian Space Discovery Centre is where the community can come together to explore the latest innovations in space technologies and learn about Australia’s role in expanding national and international space activities. By inspiring the next generation through space, Australia will increase its STEM educated population and create a workforce pipeline to sustain and grow a national space industry.
