The Next Generation of Tactical Body Armor

Defend-X Lightweight Hard Armor Plates

Defend-X® Lightweight Hard Armor is an excellent choice for tactical officers wishing to maintain a tactical advantage through mobility and agility without compromising protection.

Due to it’s lightweight durable non-ceramic design, it can be used and “abused” in the most harsh and abusive tactical environments.

Defend-X® Lightweight Hard Armor is also ideal for waterborne tactical operations as it is neutrally buoyant and chemical/water resistant.

The Defend-X® NIJ Certified Lightweight Level III Hard Armor is certified to defeat multiple hits from rifle threats of 7.62 X 51mm FMJ NATO BALL and has been independently tested to stop higher threats such as 7.62 X 54R and other 30.06 projectiles.

The Difference

Defend-X® Blast Mitigating Structural Coating is ideal for many blast hardening and mitigation applications.

Walls coated with Defend-X® withstand explosions up to 20 times greater than what a normal uncoated wall can withstand.

Defend-X® can hold numerous types of structural materials together - wood, steel, dry wall, concrete, brick and more.

Bombed walls flex but stay together.

The Difference

Blast Fragmentation Mitigation

One of the greatest threats from a blast is fragmentation.

Coating a wall of a building with Defend-X®

ensures that the wall can survive a blast without breaking into fragments.

It is estimated that a 1/8” application of Defend-X® increases the structural integrity of the wall by 100%, preventing the projectile shards, splinters and fragmentation that causethe majority of damage in a blast.

This means that not only is the structure protected, but so are the occupants.

The Difference

Installation

Defend-X® can be applied to new or existing structures, and works to save lives in the event of an explosion.

Defend-X® can hold numerous types of structural materials together - wood, steel, dry wall, concrete, brick and more.

Fully contained Mobile Installation Trailers are available with everything needed for the blast mitigation installation.

The Difference

Environmentally Safe

Laboratory tests have confirmed that the application of Defend-X® blast mitigating structural coating is safe.

With adequate ventilation, the compound’s emissions are well below the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health’s standards after one-day post application.

Within one-week post application, most of the compound’s emissions were undetectable.

• Special Projects– Leak Mitigation Project

• Concept Overview– Research and Development– Engineering and Testing

• Initial Test Results– Initial testing indicates self sealing

of both entry (.223 caliber hit) and exit (.308 caliber hit) on intellectually proprietary polymer tanks

– Recent test results have shown our polymer to seal or substantially mitigate leaks after penetration by rounds as aggressive as .50 cal M2 AP

• Agencies involved include the United States Naval Aviation Research (NAVAIR) and Development Staff

• Tested tank prototype presented to JASPO, JSF and V-22

• Further testing is ongoing at this time

• Overall Intent– To create a MIL SPEC or MIL PERF

product that DoD Aviation and other entities desiring leak mitigation in system protection can turn to for incorporation with minimal upheaval in art or manufacture
