Do I have to sign or agree to terms of use? YES… You will need to agree to the terms and conditions of the DL confidentiality agreement (THIS IS DONE ONLINE) It is a simple, non-binding contract which basically stops abuse of the brand; but should you wish, or need, for whatever reason, decide you need to leave the Instructor program, then a simple written notice is all that is required

• This is a simple agreement between yourself and Defence Lab

• It simply protects Defence Lab and the Material you are licensed to use. • You are not tied into a long-term contract • You can leave the program anytime you wish simply by giving written notice

(Please note: if you cancel at the beginning of June, for example, you will forfeit your $47 payment for that month, so the most money you can ever lose if you decide to cease training with DL is simply $47)

Architectural Framework Inside this folder, you will find many (not all) of the major concepts and principles that form the foundation of the DL teaching methodology. Understanding the base formula of multiple attack scenarios is no easy task, BUT, DL has established a tried and tested methodology. The 4 Man-Box working in correlation with the 4 major levels is the initial framework that needs to be understood and absorbed. Talent Code In this folder we look at, and talk about the subject being studied in the weekly investigations. This is not a “Technique folder”, but rather “recognition” information. For example:

• We may explain about the history of the subject, so that when you are teaching or talking with people, you have the knowledge to explain and express the ethos behind what you are teaching, and why

• We look at different examples in relation to “Life” and what typically happens

• We give you recognition identification; basically, when something is explained

via an experience you or they may have already had, the brain finds it so much easy to understand and absorb provoking information

With my $47 monthly membership, does this give me access to any physical training events? YES – these are the camps covered within your $47 monthly fee

• 3 training camps at the HQ in Spain (each consisting of 2 days) • 3 individual training days in the UK (these will be held on Sundays) • 1 weekend in the United States of America / Location will vary)

2 OPTIONS ON HOW TO TEST

There are 2 standard options (specialrequestsmaybeconsidered,butmustbeclearedbyHQinSpain)

1. A physical exam held at the DL summer Camp in Spain (Usually in July) or at the UK National Conference (Usually in November) This must be pre-booked 4 weeks in advance before the camp by contacting info@defencelab.com If you do not book – you will not be able to take your graduation.

2. Online video assessment – you can record your exam requirements and send it in to HQ where it will be assessed by a member of the Board of Examiners. (This method/service is available up to, and including brown belt) For Black Belt testing you must attend either the Spanish HQ or one of the UK training camps in person (Only Andy Norman and/or DL Crew Members can assess and officially pass black grades)

I personally know some of my old friends that were as “tough” as nails, but terrible teachers …. They had black belts, but where awful coaches! You just need to be honest with yourself, and the people you are teaching. Tell people who you really are, they will respect you for your honesty, and for what you are trying to achieve. Ultimately if you can transmit the information in the correct and fun format, people will train with you, THIS I KNOW THROUGH EXPERIENCE!!!!

MY PERSONAL STORY. I started full time professional teaching when I was 20 years old. People would ask me, “Yeah, but are you a Black Belt in JKD, my simple reply was, NO I’m not, I am an “instructor in training” and teaching these subjects; by all means come and try a free class if you like what I am teaching and the way I teach it then I would love to have you start training with me, and if it’s not for you, thank you for trying my class out. Simple, honest, and it works.

If I want to activate an Assistant Instructor in my school how do I do that, and what is the cost? This is very simple – one rule for all $47 Dollars each active Instructor License whether it be the main school, or an assistant inside the school will need to pay $47 monthly to be activated and have access to the training portals. The hierarchy that you install within your training facility is at your discretion Clearly if they are working for and with you, then you are the “BOSS” …

Where do I get

Defence Lab clothing from? You have permission from HQ to produce your own clothing, and moreover keep all profits made from the sale of clothing to your students and customers

THE RULE. You CANNOT alter the DL logo in anyway whatsoever. But, you will receive the protocol for the placement logos on the t-Shirt. This you simply give to your local T-Shirt printer who will do the rest.

Payments

How does it work? The system will charge you the instructor monthly fee based on the purchase date. This means that if you initially paid for your license on May 5th you will be charged on 5th of each consecutive month, makes sense right!?! :D What happens if my payment is declined? The DL platform has been configured to auto charge the monthly fee 3 times:

• At the same date you purchased…. • If the one above fails it will auto charge again the next day… • And if the second one fails too? The system will try for one more

time 3 days after the second attempt…. • Sadly, if all the attempts were declined the system will suspend

your accesses to the Instructor portals AUTOMATICALLY… Then… Am I going to lose all my progression and my “privileges”?

No, but you will need to contact us on support@defencelab.com asking for the reactivation of your account: • $50 reactivation fee. • If you contact us before the system suspend your

accesses (3rd attempt) you WILL NOT BE CHARGED for the reactivation fee. (every single case will be discussed by Andy Norman and the DL Crew)
