DECORATIVE TERRACOTTA PLATE INSTRUCTION

1. Prepare your workplace: clay, brushes, acrylic paints, sandpaper, kitchen plate and set your mind on

working

2. Turn on your brain and get some fine plastic foil to wrap the plate

3. Knead the clay and form it flat with a rolling pin to fit later onto the plate

4. Trim the clay excess and put everything away to dry

5. In the meantime, think over the geometric pattern you are going to paint on it

6. When the clay gets dry, which takes about seven days, take your terracotta plate off the kitchen plate and

polish it with sandpaper

7. Use some varnish to impregnate the plate surface

8. Make a sketch of your pattern on it (you can help yourself with a paper cutout). If you do not have an

idea… sorry, I know what you feel

9. Finally, start painting using your brightest creativity

10. Find the school janitor to get access to the boiler room which is the best place to keep your unfinished

piece of art.

11. Put your plate in there until next Art Class

12. Resume painting every week until you feel satisfied with the result

13. Now that your plate is ready, do the finishing touches by putting a protecting layer of varnish onto the

surface which will also help refresh the colors

14. You can turn off your brain now. You have done a great job!

15. Look at your plate several times to say with no doubt….”I am an awesome artist!”

16. It is high time you started using your plate in most creative ways
