Declaration of PokémonWhen, in the course of Pokémon events, it becomes necessary for Pokémon and trainers
alike to assemble bonds of friendship that will connect them throughout their journey,
and to assume, among the powers of the Earth, the together yet separate and equal station
to which the Laws of Nature and of Pokémon’s God, Arceus, entitle them (Locke), a
decent respect to the opinions of Pokémon and mankind requires that they should declare
the causes which impel them to unite.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all Pokémon and men are created equal, that
they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are
life, friendship, unity and mutual understanding between trainer and Pokémon (Hobbs);
that, to secure these rights, Pokémon Centers and Gyms are instituted among the Kanto,
Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, and Kalos regions (Montesquieu), deriving its just powers
from the consent of the governed (Rousseau) and knowledge gathered by the Pokémon
professors in each given region. That whenever any Team of people becomes dominate
over Pokémon, it is the Right of the People and Pokémon to alter or abolish it, and have
them arrested by Officer Jenny (Rousseau). Both people and Pokémon have equal power
that is divided between the two as to not make any unfair decisions affecting both parties
(Montesquieu). Loyalty, indeed, will dictate that friendships long established should not
be changed for light and transient causes (Hobbs). The history of the present Pokémon
trainers and Pokémon is a history of disbanding villainous teams that steal Pokémon for
profit and try to become the supreme rulers of the world, all by using the strength of their
friendship to overpower evil (Locke).
To prove this, let facts be submitted to a candid world.
Pokémon and trainers:
Have harmoniously lived together.
Have trained together to compete in Pokémon leagues and Gyms.
Have looked after each other’s health and visited Pokémon Centers regularly.
Have decided their journeys together.
Have mutual respect for each other.
Have willing fought side by side.
Have become each other’s families.
Have always been together.
Belong together.
We, therefore, the Champions of the Pokémon regions, in General Congress assembled,
appealing to the Judgment of Arceus of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do,
in the name and by the authority of the good people and Pokémon, solemnly publish and
declare, that people and Pokémon are to live together in harmony as not only friends, but
family. As equal beings, they shall have the freedom to train together and become
stronger as one.
And for the support of this declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine
Providence, all people and Pokémon should mutually pledge to other their lives,
friendship, and respect.
