December 2015
As 2015 winds down I hope everyone has a chance to reflect on 2015 and can look forward to an exciting
and fun 2016. I know here at ASHRAE we have a fun filled exciting 2016 planned.
As always, we will continue our monthly chapter meetings, with the first one being on January 12th. It
will be a lunch meeting at the ASHRAE headquarters. This should be a great way to kick of 2016 and
catch up with friends and colleagues after the busy holiday season.
As we look further into 2016 the chapter will be hosting numerous events. There are plans for a hockey
night at the Gwinnett Arena, Trap Shooting event, Spring Golf Tournament, and finishing the year with
CRC at Lake Lanier Islands. I hope everyone can participate in a few events during 2016.
I also want to say thank you for all of the support for our Research and Promotion fund raising activities.
Currently we have raised $20,184 which is 46% of our total year goal. This is most money we have ever
raised before the end of December and we couldn’t have done it without the support of you, the chapter
members. I also want to say a special thank you to our RP chair, Glenn Northrup. Glenn has been a long
time member of the chapter and has been involved in the leadership of the chapter for many years. He
was asked to step in as RP Chair this year at the last minute and he has done a great job of supporting
this important effort for the chapter.

And don’t forget we still have chapter sponsorship opportunities available. Go to

Presentation Summary:
Ethical Decision Making
One of the constants in business and life is making decisions. Sometimes we are faced with tough
situations that challenge us to make “the right decision” — the ethical decision. These situations typically
occur when there is a conflict between our values and our obligations. Drawn from Mr. Benator’s course,
Leadership Excellence®, this program identifies several typical challenging situations facing design
professionals, and presents a proven approach for analyzing these situations and arriving at an ethical
decision.

Member Promotion (MP) December 2015
How unusual!, a Wintertime in the cool 70’s. That’s weird so either the weather patterns are changing, something unusual is going on or we should brace for a heavier than usual cold days before spring. This January we have a new promotion event. The MP Team has agreed to REFUND the ASHRAE Gladiator Night ticket for the first 10 persons that either enroll as a member. Tune into the Refrigeration and YEA portions of this month’s newsletter for details. In the meantime most of us will spend the end of the year playing with our Christmas toys, paying bills or better yet putting “old papers” away. I wish you a Happy Merry New Year ahead. While we get there, spend some time figuring out the way that ASHRAE’s benefits can take you to the next step or level of your career. Let’s extend a warm welcome to the following new members:
Patrick T Tramonte Byung Chang Kwag
Scott Wilson Talia Field
Josh Carney Kacy Matthew Orr
Carl Berry Jason L Bell
