Ecosystem-based approaches, especially measures for ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA), are gaining importance around the globe in the context of meeting national biodiversity targets and climate change commitments, as issued under the CBD and the UNFCCC. This side event will feature a moderated discussion between representatives from the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT), the National Institute of Ecology and Climate Change (INECC), and the National Commission of Natural Protected Areas (CONANP) about Mexico’s experiences, both at the policy level and on-the-ground, in

connecting biodiversity conservation and climate change.
