KARAOKE MUSIC MILESTONE ACHIEVED
ENVH recently hosted the 100th Karaoke Session sponsored by Volunteer Dick White at the Home on December 11, 2017. Dick has been bringing his equipment to conduct karaoke sessions at the Home since July 2009. He has been doing so for over 8 years. The on-going date is the 2nd Sun-day of each month. Starting time of 12:30 pm held within the Town Square. Volunteer Rick Jeffer-son has helped Dick for nearly all of these sessions by doing the set-up of equipment. He sings too and encourages others to sing. Finally, Rick helps to take all the equipment down. Dick and Rick are both retired Air Force Veterans. They thoroughly enjoy putting on the karaoke sessions each month. Regular singers from ENVH include members Shirley, Lois, Mary, Vic, Ed and Melpo. Dick invited a half dozen volunteers to perform during the sessions too. Most of them have come to sing on a regular basis. They bring lots of smiles to the members. Dick provides special items to give away during the karaoke sessions. Such as small stuff animals, music CDs, and various other items. Overall, this has been a great success! Music is an important part of life. Hopefully these karaoke sessions help to bring back good memories and help create new ones. Thank you Dick! Thank you Rick! Your time and efforts have been greatly appreciated.

with us. Also seen, Judy’s daughter , Chris who has a love-
ly singing voice. She likes to sing while her mother plays
on the piano. Thank you for the wonderful piano!
Recent donation of an electric piano
A few thoughts about why we donated the piano by Judy Pollack.
My husband, Richard J. Pollack was proud of his service in the U.S. Navy. He did not pass another Veteran or active duty serviceman without shaking their hand and thanking them for their service.
It is our hope that the piano will convey our families appreciation to all the Veterans and their spouses who reside at ENVH now and in the years to come. A special plaque was added to the pi-ano with Richard’s name, in his honor.
Sincerely Judy Pollack and family

Kari Tex
Staff Tech II/Services Unit
Kari always goes above and beyond to help other staff techs ad family, even if she is very busy. She always has a great attitude and provides over the top care for her members. If my grandparent was a member here I would be at ease knowing they are getting proper care. She helps bring the staff, family and members togeth-er and does it with integrity. She is very thorough with her work and al-ways puts 110% into everything she does. Kari does an excellent job on the med cart, since she is careful to be accurate and organized. She goes above and beyond to clean the member refrigerator. She always lives up to being a team leader and role model for other staff mem-bers. She will stop everything she is doing to help a SCT or a member in
need.

Mid-America Wood Carvers Association:
During this holiday season, we received
25 hand carved and painted wooden
ornaments. Volunteers Steve Reed and
his wife, Cathy were instrumental in
getting the project done. Various mem-
bers of the association helped to create
an ornament to donate to the members
for decorating a holiday tree.
Job well done! Thank you!
Holiday Party 2017
The members were entertained by local groups of home
schooled students and boy scouts as they sang traditional
Christmas Carols during the holiday season 2017.
Above: Salvation Army sent a group to visit
with the members. They wished everyone a
blessed holiday and gave a small gift too.
Left: A group consisting of
members of a local Beta Sig-
ma Alpha Sorority and the
Children of American Revolu-
tion sponsored a special Sat-
urday afternoon activity of
hot cocoa, cookies and a craft-
ing project. The sorority has
agreed to spend time with the
ladies of ENVH every other
month on the 2nd Saturday.
Everyone had a nice visit and
enjoyed the snacks and crafts.

Lehnig or Maggie offered to
do a project that is designed
to produce quality photos of
interested members as well as
a memory book of photos and

In Loving Memory of:
Most of us have a great deal of life experi-ence with worry and anxiety. And we also know from experience that it usually does more harm than good. According to some research referenced by the New York Times, Americans are among the most anxious people on earth. We spend bil-lions of dollars every year on antianxiety medications. But I am convinced that the core answer to much of anxiety comes in our relationship with God and our faith in the promises of God. Over the first two months of the new year, I will be sharing a series of messages (based on Philippians 4:4-9) that address God's prescription for anxiety. I believe it will be some very prac-tical wisdom that we can all benefit from. Check out the all-faith service every Sunday morning at 9:45 in the chapel.
