The OPR was par- ticipated by selected participants to the training on Produc- tivity, Innovation and Singapore’s Innovation Experts visit PH for the Official Program Review Enterprise Development in Singapore. It served as forum for the exchange of learnings and shar- ing of best practices in the application of produc- tivity and innovation to demonstration projects. A t the request of the NWPC, Mr. Bong Sori- ano of the Occupational Safety and Health Center conducted a brief lecture on the Magna Carta for Women last November 30, 2015. The Magna Carta for Women promotes non- discriminatory and pro-gender equality and provides equity measures to enable women’s participation in the formulation, implementa- tion, and evaluation of policies, plans, and pro- grams for national, regional, and local devel- opment. He said that while the country’s initia- tive has shown improvements based on in- ternational ranking, much can still be done to support the gender and development agenda. Sy was awarded the Best Director / Agency Head 2015 for the Employability of Work- ers and Competitiveness of Enterprises En- hanced (EWCEE) and Luzon Regional Op- erations Cluster last December 11, 2015. Based on the agency’s 2014 accom- plishments, the Commission nominated Director Sy for her integrity and managerial competence. The TF and NYPi team also sought audi- ence with Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Bald- oz where they shared their insights and views of how the participants applied their learnings through various productivity and innovation projects. The Secretary, for her part, expressed gratitude for the training collaboration. She also instructed the NWPC to continuously monitor these projects to ensure sustainability.

The NWPC held its Christmas Party at the NWPC Conference Room last 18 December

2015.

In her welcome remarks, Executive Director Maria Criselda R. Sy recognized the contribution of everyone in the attainment of the targets of the agency.

The Regional Tripartite Wages and Produc-

tivity Board – II (RTWPB II) conducted simultane-ous orientations on pro-ductivity enhancement, two-tiered wage system, LHP (labor-human re-lations and productiv-ity) and Service Quality Training last October 27-29, 2015 in Batanes.

The orientation on productivity improve-ment conducted in Cha-vayan and Sabtang last October 27 was partici-pated in by the Sabtang

Tricycle Operators and Drivers’ Association (SATODA) and Sabtang Weavers’ Association (SWA) represented by president Mr. Ronnie Ubalde and Ms. Rosalin-da Homigop, respective-ly.

Meanwhile, the Board conducted an orientation on the two-tiered wage system last October 29 at Saint Do-minic College (SDC). The orientation intend-ed to encourage the school’s management,

its staff and faculty to adopt the recommen-dations of the Board’s advisory on productivity-based incentive scheme for higher education in-stitution. The Board also provided technical as-sistance crafting SDC’s PBP scheme.

Meanwhile, the Board together with the DOLE Batanes Sub- offi ce conducted an LHP orientation for the con-struction industry in Ba-soc last October 27 and 29. Twenty eight work-

ers and management representatives of MRBII Construction and 44 em-ployees and managers/supervisors of EM Cu-erpo Construction par-ticipated in the training.

Meanwhile, the training on Service Qual-ity (SQ) last October 29 at the Provincial Capi-tol Function Hall, was participated in by repre-sentatives from nine (9) hotels, restaurants and travel agencies in Ba-tanes.

ductivity Board – Na-tional Capital Region (RTWPB-NCR) award-ed 2 companies with the Service Quality Seal of Recognition and 9 com-panies with Certifi cates of Recognition as Tier 2 Implementors at the D Circle Hotel, Malate, Manila last November 13, 2015.

Board Chairper-son Alex V. Avila under-scored the signifi cance of productivity improve-

ment to both workers, enterprises and the economy as a whole. Speaking in behalf of Executive Director Mar-ia Criselda R. Sy, Dep-uty Executive Director Jeanette T. Damo em-phasized the benefi ts of productivity improve-ment programs in rais-ing the incomes of work-ers and enterprises. She also encouraged the participants to join in the NWPC’s social media initiative on #En-gageMotivateAchieve.

The Service Quality Seal of Recogni-tion was awarded to Best Western Hotel (La Co-rona) and Regent Travel Corporation. The two awardees also received Certifi cates of Recogni-tion as Implementors of Productivity-Based In-centive Schemes.

Other recipients of the Certifi cates of Rec-ognition for Tier 2 were Victoria Court- Gil Puyat, Victoria Court- Cuneta, Domestic Guest House

Budget Hotel, Island Re-sort Club Tour Services, Inc., Oasis Paco Park Hotel, Sohotel, and Ber-jaya Makati Hotel.

In her closing remarks, Board Vice-Chairperson DTI Direc-tor Emma C. Asusano encouraged the awar-dees to pursue their pro-ductivity improvement programs. She also praised the outstanding accomplishments of the 2015 Productivity Olym-pics winners.

RTWPB-NCR awards Service Quality Seal of Recognition/

Certifi cate of Recognition to Tier 2 Implementors

RTWPB-X conducted a series of orientation on Wage Order No. RX-18 in Northern Mind-

anao. The new Wage Order granted a P12 peso increase, bringing the highest minimum wage to P318 for non-agricutural workers in the region.

Wage clinics in fi ve provinces were con-ducted: August 22 in Bukidnon; September 18 in Lanao del Norte; September 24 in Camiguin; September 30 in Misamis Occidental; and on Oc-tober 7, 2015 in Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental.

The wage clinics also discussed the TTWS, Batas Kasambahay or RA 10361 and Productivity Toolbox.

RTWPB X conducts orientation

Among her achievements in the Commission were the successful imple-mentation of the two-tiered wage system, intensifi cation of the Productivity Toolbox, training collaboration with Singapore’s Nanyang Polytechnic International and Te-masek Foundation, and policy researches relative to wages, incomes, and productiv-ity.

In 2015, Director Sy also led the NWPC in its journey to be the fi rst govern-ment agency to be ISO 9001:2015 certi-fi ed.

NWPC has successfully established a quality man-

agement system that will deliver quality policies and

programs on wage, income and productivity as well

as compliance to all applicable legal requirements,

pursues continuous improvement of systems, proc-

esses, and the competencies of our talents,” said Executive Director Maria Criselda R. Sy. She also thanked the offi cers and staff, especially the QMS committees, for their determination to achieve the ISO certifi cation.

The NWPC took the challenge of being the fi rst agency to be ISO 9001:2015 certifi ed, with Rosehall Management Consultants Inc. (RMCI) pro-

viding capacity building and technical assistance until the fi rst stage certifi cation audit. The NWPC and concerned Boards went through its fi rst inter-nal pre-certifi cation audit last November 2-3, and an external pre-certifi cation audit last November 9-10 in preparation for the certifi cation audit by TÜV Rheinland AG, NWPC’s certifying body.

Prior to this, Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz presented to President Benigno S. Aquino III the ISO Certifi cation of the 33 DOLE services, bureaus, and attached agencies’ during the Open-ing Ceremonies of the 15th National PESO Con-gress last October 26, 2015.
