2015 Organizing Update New NLRB Regulations Aid Shift and Growth in Organizing Department
◦ New rules took effect in April 2015 creating:
◦ Shorter turnaround on election orders; ◦ Streamlined hearing process for petitioners; ◦ Quicker access to excelsior list;
◦ New Interest Cards and Electronic Options
◦ Working with OGC on combined Interest and Dues Authorization Cards
◦ Electronic showing of interests now allowed by the NLRB
Organizing Over 1000 members added to the NAGE family in 2015
◦ The over 500 EMS professionals with Alameda County Paramedics Plus finally receive certification and join NAGE EMS
◦ Universal Ambulance campaign leads to first ever EMS Gissel Order
◦ Employer filed 17 ULPs against IAEP, all dismissed ◦ IAEP filed over 20 ULPs against Employer, 99% upheld ◦ Employer ordered to recognize union by NLRB◦ NLRB goes to Federal Court to force negotiations

◦ All contracts resulted in significant raises (in some cases between 20% and 40% wage increase)

◦ Scott Schaub – Former local president and EMS professional from Local R1-717, Enfield EMS (CT) ◦ Dick Anderson – Over 30 years experience negotiating EMS contracts for IAEP / NAGE
