President ’s report A.K.A.
Scott
The weather has turned cold and snowy. The ponds are frozen, and so are the roads. Christmas music, parties, and decorations abound. Grey Cup fever is in full swing, and the Flames are amidst one of the greatest starts in a long time. World of Wheels is 2-1/2 months away, and our Christmas mixer is done. The ponies are all tucked away for the season, and your vehicle of choice now includes something that resembles the 4x4 or AWD symbol. Siggggh. It does not leave too many car related activities to write about! Our Christmas mixer was a great success! Many thanks to Sharon who planned a fantastic evening of games, give-aways, coffee and snacks! The Women's Shelter also came out as a winner with donations from our members! Awesome! We also held some elections for new member of our executive. Thank you to all those that stepped up and has chosen to donate your time and energy! I wish to pass on my thanks to the members stepping down, and it was a pleasure working with each and everyone of you! I believe there will be a updated list of our new executive included with this newsletter, again thank you all! Although it seems like a lifetime ago already, it was one of the best "Mustang" seasons you could have hoped for! It started with our successful WOW last
February, where we ended up winning first place for the 2nd year in a row! Followed by the 50th celebrations in Charlotte and Vegas, and very successful Presidential and International shows. We cannot forget our inaugural scavenger hunt, and many other shows and cruises that filled the voids on the weekends. The only dark spot on the whole summer I can remember is the uncooperative weather when it came to our cruise nights, as I think we only got two in. One to Cochrane after the thunder storm cleared, and another to Peter's in September but it was dark by the time we got there! Mustang nation was also blessed with a new model! Although not ready till late in the season, they are now on the ground here in Calgary! Ironic though, the first one I saw on the road was this last Friday during our massive storm. Poor dude was trying to navigate through Quarry Park in a black 5.0, at a point in time where you could barely see across the road! I look forward to next season when they will be out in their full glory! If you have not had a chance to see or sit in one, I highly recommend going down to Advantage Ford, and taking a look at the yellow one in the showroom. Fantastic! I cannot foresee it being there very long though, as I'm sure someone will take it home soon.
They have also just released the Shelby GT350, with a brand new engine and reworked body panels. No horsepower numbers are released yet though, nor a retail price, of course. Looking forward, they are rumoured to be releasing a GT350R at the Detroit Auto show in '15, and that a GT500 is also in the works! While there are many opinions on the new model, I think they have gotten it right. When compared with other models of comparable size, features, power, design, and price point it is absolutely unmatched. Biased? Perhaps, but the numbers speak for themselves. Let the hate mail begin! As we head deeper into winter, and may be feeling a little blah, remember that spring is just around the corner. In fact the days will starting getting longer in a mere 3 weeks. (That's some serious optimism if you ask me!) In the meantime enjoy all the festivities of the season! Happy Holiday's Everyone!

AMAC events for 2014 will be partly in support of the Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter. Fund raising for this wonderful agency will now be a part of each of our events. This means when you participate in a club event part of your admission or registration costs will go to the Shelter. One more great reason to participate in AMAC activities.
The Calgary Women's Emergency Shelter is a nonprofit agency that provides emergency shelter for women and children escaping domestic
violence. We also offer support and prevention programs For more information see their website at:

The “Car Guy” definition has been explained in many ways by many publications and many experts, none of these really hit the mark for me. The politically correct term I have been told is “Car Person” as this obsession is not confined to just guys, as many women have been infected by this phenomenon as well. Another term is “Car Enthusiast” but that just sounds too expensive to me, so I will remain the old school “Car Guy”. Personally I feel that you are a Car Guy if you simply have a passion or interest for any kind of automobile for whatever reason.
Now….Mac & Cheese is definitely my favorite comfort food of all time, so these are really my two favorite things; Cars and Macaroni and
Cheese. To put this into a Car Guy perspective, you will need to think of Mac & Cheese in the same light as buying a new car from the dealership. First you can imagine the comparison of a new car purchase and Mac & Cheese creations by making your base macaroni dish (pasta, butter, salt & pepper) this would now be in comparison to ordering let’s say a base model Ford Mustang.
The interesting part is when you add the options such as; air conditioning, tilt wheel, cruise control, heated seats, lobster, truffle oil, bison burger. What a wonderful driving…… and food experience you have just created!
I will be sharing my experiences with homemade
Mac & Cheese in this upcoming Newsletters.
In the newsletters I will share a number of recipes that I have gathered over many years and in some cases modified to suite my tastes. These favorite recipes come from several sources such as family members, travel expe-riences, kitchen experiments, old recipes passed down from person to person.
All these recipes are close to my heart and I am sharing with you my gift of “The Car Guys Guide to Mac & Cheese”. (continued in next edition)...

International Fall Meeting 2014
August 31, 2014
Richmond, BC.
The Annual Meeting on the International Mustang Meet (IMM) weekend was held at the River Rock Ca-sino Resort in Richmond, BC on Sunday, August 31. These are not the official meeting minutes, but my summary. All of the Clubs in the International except for Billings and Winnipeg were represented at this meeting. Some of the items discussed included:
Our one official act of business, Craig Shanley was successfully elected to the position of Canadian IMM Chair. This now fills the position vacated by Bob Clark, due to health concerns.
Vancouver indicated they had 418 cars registered at the event, with about 20 additional no-shows.
Their Facebook page at IMM35 worked very well for getting information out.
Peter B from GVMA indicated the IMM 35 Committee totaled about 12 people and for the Show weekend they had around 100 volunteers.
Peter also thanked all the volunteers from the other Clubs, for all their work.
There were no port-a-potties on the Show site, because Lansdowne Centre would not permit them.
Peter indicated that the River Rock was very surprised by how many registrations they received so quickly after opening for registering…this in turn allowed the hotel to adjust estimated costs to the Club for other services as more rooms filled.
As for suggestions, do as much as possible in advance, really push pre-registration as the team gets very busy in the 3 weeks prior to the event with all the other things that need their attention.
Barry Barton from Spokane once again provided his database for all the registrations and Classes. Vancouver was very happy with how that all worked out. Thanks Barry.
The next US site will be Missoula, MT for IMM 36. The Holiday Inn (Parkside) downtown will be the Host Hotel again, along with two additional Hotels.
Missoula is ready to go; Show site planned, budget is set; Hotels confirmed, and many details being worked out.
Banquet tickets will be in the range of $34 per adult.
Big change – per the decision made in April 2014 at the Calgary Winter Meeting. Starting in Missou-la, there will be a very different list of Classes for the Saturday Show and Shine. The decision to modify the minimum number of classes is an attempt to make the voting easier as the years of Mus-tangs continues to grow each year. **See a copy of this new Class list for 2015 elsewhere in
this newsletter—see page 19.**
Bozeman also mentioned that last year their Club incurred routing charges when Canadians paid with a cheque that was drawn on a Canadian bank; even if the account was in US funds. This charge was $10 per cheque, and is a direct cost to the American Clubs. Please note this when pay-ing for IMM 36 in Missoula. Money orders purchased in Canada but drawn on a US bank did not in-cur this fee. Neither would cash of course.

International Fall Meeting 2014, continued…
The upcoming Winter Meeting will be held in Great Falls, MT on Saturday afternoon, April 18, 2015.
** Note – the IMM 36 Executive (AMAC) will be making a formal presentation at the Winter
Meeting, on the status of Calgary’s efforts for September 2016. **
From an AMAC point of view, we again had a large number of Club members and cars in Richmond, BC for IMM 35. (with a large number winning awards in the Show and Shine). It seems everyone had a good time, and an exciting weekend. By all indications, Missoula will be putting on a super weekend for IMM 36, so we should try and get another good number of “AMAC” Fords out there!
Thanks,
Russ Penner
AMAC International Rep
