Dignitarians Celebrate Year End
Walkathons, outings, exhibitions and picnics were on the agenda of most
Dignitarians who kicked off their year-end celebrations with zest and
enthusiasm. Dignity Expressions profiles them all

Navi Mumbai: Dignity Foundation inaugurated its Chai Masti centre at Navi Mumbai. President and Founder of Dignity Foundation Sheilu Sreenivasan welcomed senior citizens from Navi Mumbai to be a part of the Dignity family. Sukanta Nag, Bivas Chandra Maiti and S Roy from Navi Mumbai Bengali Association partnered with Dignity to make this event a grand success. The evening saw a mix of dance, poetry, and musical extravaganza put up by seniors from various Chai Masti centres across the city.

Mumbai: On December 19, a team of 15 employees from Crompton Greaves—a partner of Dignity Foundation in the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon 2015 visited the retirement township at Neral (Dignity Lifestyle) to interact with care block residents (those suffering from age related disorders like Dementia, Alzheimer’s and some in need of assistance to carry out their daily chores.) The employees dived into making memories with the residents in various ways. Singing old hit songs, having fun interactive sessions, lunching with the residents and having a sneak peek into their rooms and their lives ruled almost the entire day.

Mumbai: On December 16, Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) students interning at Dignity Foundation showcased an exhibition of posters from Campaign for Dignity Magazine at Wilson college in Mumbai. The exhibition highlighted various problems faced by elderly through commercial advertisements and students displayed these advertisements to the student community in the college. The event also had various interactive activities sessions like asking students to share their memory of their grandparents and what would they contribute in the life of an old person they knew. The event was a sheer grand success.

Mumbai: Dignitarians from Chai Masti Centre, Chembur on December 11 had a gala time at a picnic at Royal Garden Resort off Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway. The members played around in the water park, enjoying at the artificial rain dance, waterfalls, dashing cars and they even watched a 7D virtual show.

Chennai: On Dec 14, Dignitarians and excited senior citizens were busy putting on
their Walk with Dignity T-shirts and caps to participate in the Walkathon organized
by Dignity Foundation, Chennai Chapter, to raise awareness on the support system
for the elderly. Post registration and sipping in steaming filter coffee, they joined
the warm up sessions with the laughter club group and Phoenix fitness studio. Our
brand ambassador, actor Sivakumar flagged off the walk and seniors holding
placards with slogans and helpline numbers marched forward with enthusiasm
and pride. The 1.5 km walk along the Marina ended with a health check and
scrumptious breakfast for the participants. Sivakumar had the group captivated
with his anecdotes and motivated elders to pursue their passions. Special invitees
were from the Kalaichelvi Old Age Home, Asha Niketan and Kaakum Karangal who
enjoyed being part of the Walkathon. The event was sponsored by Sundaram
Mutual Funds, Cornerstone Retirement Homes, Kauvery Hospital, Yakult, Sun
Pharmacy, Parry Water and Chennai Urology Clinic. Dignitarians in making
this event possible are Sundera Gopalan, Radhakrishnan and Indu Phadke, Vijay
Bobby, Lakshmi Menon, Col. Mohan, Shridhar Ganesh, Dr Prithika Chary, V
Balachander, Anandkumar, Sundera Moorthy Parasuraman, Lata from Iris Events,

Kolkata: Dignity members of Dhakuria Chaayer Adda, Kolkata Chapter visited the differently- abled children of the Voice of the World orphanage in Kolkata on December 13. Most of the visually impaired children being good singers, dancers
and actors performed for the members. The members spent an entire day with them at the orphanage. Encouraging message from a long time member
