Nancy Mellesmoen, Center Manager at the Glencoe Family Service Center was on a panel of four advocates at the Meeker-McLeod-Sibley Healthy Community Forum at the Hutchinson Event Center. e panel spoke about their successes in partnering with SHIP, also showcasing all efforts through displays of the local efforts under way to address community health issues. e event aimed to educate the need for healthy communities and to increase the understanding and support for healthy living initia- tives under way in the three counties.

Tri-Valley said goodbye to board members Jan Anderson and Bill Montague. Jan served on the Tri-Valley Board of Directors for almost four decades while Bill served for 12 years. Their hard work and dedication to Tri-Valley was greatly appreciated and will be missed.

Policy Council members and staff attended the 29th Annual Head Start Parent Conference in Grapevine, TX.

T.H.E. Bus began Tour of Lights and Holiday Train events in December. Tri-Valley Transportation also brought area residents to the Lions 11th Annual Christmas in the Park in Grand Forks. On December 21, T.H.E. Bus pro-vided transportation for Crookston residents to Stable Communion at the UTOC building on the University of Minnesota, Crookston campus.

The Community Family Service Center (CFSC) in Crook-ston and the West Adventure Center in Hendrum held winter programs in December. The CFSC also held a “Safe Kids” car seat check up on December 18.

*** Newsletter Update ***Beginning in January, Denny’s Newsletter and the Tri-Valley Newsletter will be combined into one month-ly newsletter that will be sent out on the last day of the month (that doesn’t fall on a weekend or holiday). Newsletter items will be due no later than a week before the newsletter is sent out. If it is received after that date it will be included in the following months newsletter. Thank you to everyone who replied to the Survey Monkey regarding chang-es to the newsletter. Please continue to think about what you would like to see in the Tri-Valley Newsletter as we will again be asking for ideas and opinion in a couple of months.

Tri-Valley Senior Program Volunteers enjoyed a Christmas party on Friday, December 7 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Crookston. The Foster Grandparent and Senior Companion volunteers enjoyed muffins, music from the Our Savior’s Lutheran elementary school students, a

baked potato bar and games including “A Super Fun Christmas Game” (pictured).
