First student to tell Mr. Flushman the total number of Old Cockrill graduates gets a prize.

Old Cockrill students take a tour of NSCC Last week a group of students interested in Nashville State Community College went over to the campus to take a tour. The group was organized by Ms. Van Loon and the tour was given by a NSCC student. “I thought our tour guide, Brittany, was very helpful and gave the students a realistic idea of what it is like to be a college student,” said Ms. Van Loon. Student, Clifford Esters, was impressed, and said, “It was a great experience to see a place of higher learning. Fredericka Little

Where were you born?

I was born in Nashville, TN. What is your favorite

food? My favorite food is my mom’s hot wings. They’re real hot. What is your favorite

thing to do? I like being a mom. I have one boy and he is active.

Do you have a hobby?

I like to watch The Game.

Tell us something interesting about

you. I can be funny. I tell jokes. I like being around my family. I have a twin sister and two older brothers and one little brother. My twin is nothing like me- she’s more outgoing.

On Tuesday, December 7 students from Ms. Holton’s English class and Ms. Seay’s Foreign Language classes visited the Birth of Impressionism show at the Frist Center for the Visual Arts. The students were fortunate to see such a rare exhibit as “Nashville was only one of three cities to get the show, and the pieces that were there may not come back to the U.S. for 30 or 40 years,” said Ms. Holton. When asked what she liked best, Annalecsia Greenhill exclaimed that she was “surprised by how big the paintings were” and that she “really liked the textures,” and added, “It was fun!” Deangela Leggs was “impressed by the colors, textures, and shapes” of the Chihuly sculptures. If you’d like to visit the exhibit, it will be on display at the Frist until Jan. 23.
