Ms. Ogburn and the 2 nd grade class did a won- derful job introducing the concept of Stewardship. They have also provided us with excellent stewardship activities such as writing on the “Stewardship is Heart Work” wall. Talking with your child about the Virtue of the Month can help in gain- ing a better understanding of Virtue. Here are some T HE G EAT N EWS ST. Choose a fairytale with a good moral or a story about a saint and read it to a younger child. Choose a new way to conserve resources or recycle. Sacrifice a treat and give the money to the poor. Practice saying the Sign of the Cross first thing in the morning when you wake up, to dedicate all your time that day to God. On Sunday we begin the season of Advent as we await the birth of Je- sus. Blessings, Ms. Tabor PRESCHOOL NEWS St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic School is excited to announce the opening of a Pre-K 3 year-old program beginning in the 2018-2019 school year. Children who are 3 years old by August 1 may register to attend. There are 14 available openings so we encourage you to ap- ply as soon as possible. The 3 year-old program is separate from our 4 year-old program. The Pre-K 3’s will be located adjacent to the Pre-K 4 class- room. Construction for the new classroom will begin this December. Registration packets can be picked up at the school office. For more infor- mation or to schedule a tour, please contact Princi- pal Jill Tabor at [email protected]. If you know anyone who may be interested in sending their child to the St. Raphael Pre-K program, please have them contact the school, 456-1541.

Honor Roll Update The following students were omitted from the Honor Roll list in error and we want

to be sure to celebrate their hard work: Elaina Ziller, Grade 8, Principal’s List; Kel-

ler Riede, Maggie Spath, Analiese Stone, Honor Roll. We congratulate these stu-

dents on this fine accomplishment.

High School Placement Test— The high school placement test is Saturday, December 9th

from 9—12:30. Our school code is 075. Students are asked to bring $10 to cover the cost of the test

and two #2 pencils. Students are asked to take the test at the school they are planning to attend.

Tuition Assistance for 2018-2019 school year To apply for 2018-2019 Catholic Education Foundation grants, go to the following website to register :

same user ID and password. Applications will be taken between December 15-February 28. Please note

this is a change from previous years.

Advent Calendar, a reminder to the children to focus on their mental, physical and spiritual well being

and to remember those less fortunate during the holidays.

Advent/Christmas Musical Presentation: Please join us for the all school Mass on Thursday, December 14 at

8:15. Immediately following Mass, the following grades 2—8 will perform.

STEWARDSHIP—Ms. Ogburn’s 2nd Grade class created a beautiful Stewardship Banner and Christmas

tree. All staff and students wrote about how they will be good stewards and the importance of giving the

gifts of our time, talent and treasure.

THANKSGIVING LUNCHEON

Our guests enjoyed a delicious Thanksgiving luncheon. Many thanks to Ms. Kuhn in the cafeteria and

all her helpers for a delicious meal served to over 100 guests.
