Tuesday, December 11, 2012 - ACTION NEEDED TODAY

Thank You for Standing up for Smart Energy Policy in Louisiana!

    URGENT: Make ONE Call --

    Tell Your Public Service

    Commissioner TWO Things.

Your Commissioners will be holding a public meeting Wednesday, December 12 th, at 9:00

a.m., in the NATCHEZ ROOM, ROOM C-109 of the Galvez Building located at 602 North

Fifth Street in Baton Rouge. Between now and then we need to flood their offices with asmany phone calls as possible demanding energy efficiency and support for clean energy!

1.Support Lower Bills: Support theEnergy Efficiency Resource Standard!

In the past months, Louisiana residents have sent hundreds of petitions to our Public ServiceCommissioners telling them that we want a strong Energy Efficiency Resource Standard

(EERS). Because of you, we are closer than ever to getting an EERS that will help lower our

energy bills and reduce our dependence on fossil fuels. Tell them you want clean energy for

the holidays. Tell them they can't stall this vital program any longer.

Call your Public Service Commissionerand tell them to vote YES

    for the EERS.

    2. Support Solar Energy: Suspend any rulechanges to net-metering until a fair

    cost/benefit analysis is performed.

Last week, the LPSC Staff prematurely recommended changes to the current Louisiana net-metering rules based on erroneous claims and an inaccurate cost analysis performed by a

consulting firm with no experience in distributed energy or net-metering policy. Their analysis

disregards the many benefits that net-metering customers provide utilities as well as rate-payers. The proposed rule changes would eliminate the incentive for installing solar energy

systems on your home or business.

If the proposed rules are passed, these rules will not only threaten Louisiana's efforts to createan efficient and affordable energy supply, but they also threaten to harm one of the state's

fastest growing industries and jobs creators. The proposed rule changes will be discussed and

voted on during the December 12th

    public meeting in Baton Rouge.

Call your Commissioner and tell them to suspend any rule changes

to net-metering until a fair cost/benefit analysis is performed.
