A debate club gives students of all abilities a fun

way of developing their oracy skills and helps

develop their critical thinking and confident

communication skills. It also helps students to

become more informed about political and global

affairs. On Friday, 28th June, nine of our top

debaters competed at a multi-school competition

hosted by Haberdashers' Aske’s Boys’ Prep School.

It was a new format for our students, but they

quickly adjusted to the new debate protocol

and honourably represented our school. In the final

round of debates, one of our three teams was on

top of the leader board, but ultimately lost by one

point knocking us down to fourth place. Thanks to

Mr Chavez for his excellent preparation, Mrs Mistry

for joining and to our kids for doing such a

magnificent job!

geous day - it looks like so much fun!

Right

Year 1 and Year 2 with the sand between

their toes having a brilliant time at Ruislip

Lido and making final memories at the

school that will last a lifetime!

Last Thursday, June 27, 1B and 2W went to Ruislip Lido to learn about the

seaside. It was a lovely hot day and there were barely any clouds in the sky.

When we arrived we were the only people there! We ate our snack while Mr

Wildman used cones to make a boundary. Then we played in the sand and on the

play equipment. It was so much fun and very sandy. After an hour of playing, we

went to the water fountains and got absolutely soaking wet! It was freezing and

we were colder than ice. Luckily, the sun dried us off in no time. Then we ate

our lunch. It was scrumptious. There was just enough time to have a quick play

before we headed back to school. The trip was relaxing and excellent and we would

definitely go again! This trip had a huge impact on us because it will be something

we remember forever!
