1986 - Ph.D. in Religious Studies, University of Aberdeen, Scotland.
Field experience
Nine years teaching and researching in Africa: Nigeria with research trips to
Dahomey (Republic of Benin), and Cameroon. Fieldwork conducted in Liberiaand Ghana, Kenya, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Senegal, Uganda, Botswana.
Fieldwork on African churches in London and the U.S.. Fieldwork in Asia
(Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Hong Kong, South Korea).
She has published widely on religion in Africa, notably on new religious
movements, as well as on art, media, gender, conflict, and religious freedom in
the African context.
