We also have an amazing lineup of internationally renowned bands, DJ’s

and Taster Teachers, that will make you dance your socks off!

The entire event is based on volunteer work and we would very much like

to acknowledge all the people who have helped us on the way. We could

not have done it without you!

You can check in to the event in the following time slots:

Wednesday – from 19:00 to 23:00

Thursday – from 18:30 to 22:00

Friday – from 18:00 to 22:00

We will have a list of names of everyone

who have bought a ticket, but as an extra

guarantee please bring the Paypal

confirmation of your ticket purchase,

either printed or in electronic version.

At the check-in desk you will receive your CPH:LX 2015 bracelet. DO NOT REMOVE THE

BRACELET during the entire exchange, otherwise it becomes invalid and we cannot grant you

entrance to the CPH:LX events.

What if you arrive after check-in desk closes?

In this case you must have the Paypal confirmation with you. You will get a temporary wristband

from our doorman. However, you will still need to come to the check-in desk the next day to

complete your check-in.

Transport

Public Transport in Copenhagen

You can travel around Copenhagen

by bus, metro and S-train.

You can check the public transport schedule

on Google Maps or on Rejseplanen.

Getting from the airport to the center:

When you land at Copenhagen Airport, the easiest way

to get to the city center is to take the metro and get off

at Nørreport Station. It takes 15 min to get to the center

with metro. Both metro lines (M1 and M2) go in the

same direction, so you don’t need to worry about going

the wrong way. You can also take a bus, regional train

or taxi, but metro is definitely the fastest option.

At Nørreport Station you can switch to buses and

S-trains to get to your hotel/hostel

or your host’s place.

Tickets:

Depending on how long you are planning to stay in Cph,

and on the distance between your accommodation and

our venues, you can choose between several ticket options:

Single tickets, 24- or 72-hour City Pass, 7 day Flexcard.

You can buy tickets in ticket machines or 7 Eleven kiosks

at the train and metro stations. In the airport arrival hall

and at Copenhagen Central Station there is a DSB ticket

office as well as ticket machines.

Remember that travelling without a valid ticket will

result in a fine of up to 750 DKK.

Getting to Tangobar, the Pre-Party venue:

Get to Islands Brygge Station (line M1) and walk 5 min

to Tangobar

With bus:

Option A – Get to Klaksvigsgade with bus 5A and walk

6 min to Tangobar

Copenhagen is probably the best city in the world for

bikers, so you should definitely consider experiencing the

city from bike’s perspective! There are a lot of bike rental

coming to town. We wanted to create an opportunity for everyone to meet

each other and hang out on the first day of the event. And so we present to

you: The Vintage Pub Crawl!

Guided tour in Freetown Christiania (13.00 – 15.00)

Meeting place: Gallopperiet in Loppen

Price: 50 DKK in cash, paid upon arrival

Join us for a guided tour around the Freetown Christiania, famous for being a

place to buy pot, hash and other soft drugs in Pusher Street (illegally).

But perhaps also for being the last remnants of the peace and love hippie

movement in Europe and the most multicultural place in Denmark.

Vintage Walk (16.00 – 18.00)

Meeting place: Torvehallerne, on the Nørreport St. Side

We will meet at Torvehallerne (market halls), maybe grab a cup of coffee to go,

and then head to the city center to visit the best vintage shops in the capital,

among them Decor, one of the brightest stars at our vintage sky. We will end the

tour in the newest vintage pearl, A Touch of Vintage, who has invited us for a nice

glass of port and a look at the new shop that hasn’t even opened officially yet!

In The Men’s Dressing Room (16.00 – 17.30)

Meeting place: Torvehallerne, on the Nørreport St. Side

Gentlemen (& ladies interested), come with Shorty to a sophisticated Men’s Shop

(Herrernes Magasin), and see first hand what different vintage styles there are.

Even try it on for yourself. Shorty might even pick some things out for you. Try

bow-ties, ties, collar bars, collar pins, suspenders, buttons, jackets of different

fabrics, and things with colour accent.

Extra: Men’s Fashion evening taster (18.00 – 19.00)

After the visit at the shop, you can come to Søpavillonen for a Retro/Vintage Men’s

Fashion Taster class in Søpavillonen at 18.00, where Shorty will teach you how to

style yourself up as the best reflection of you.

Boat Trip with Live Music (12.45 – 14.00) Meeting place: Stormbroen

We will sail through the many small channels of Copenhagen and enjoy the

beautiful city from the water. New Orleans rhythms will accompany us on the

trip, performed live by Chris Tanner & Friends. The trip will take app. 1 hour.

This year we booked two boats (both with live music!), so there should be

enough room for everyone.

Dance Parade through the city (14.15 – 16.30) Meeting place: Storkespringvandet (Amagertorv 6)

After the Boat Trip, we will do a swingin’ and dancing parade through the city,

led by Chris Tanner & Friends. We will walk to several beautiful squares in the

Inner City and dance our way through the streets.

Potluck Brunch (13.00 – 15.00) Meeting place: Søpavillonen (main party venue)

Never has a lindy hopper seen so much delicious food and pancakes. You will

get a chance to eat delicious food, mingle with the other lindy hoppers, and

listen to good swing tunes in the background. The brunch will have a potluck

character, which means that everyone who wants to join brings some food with

them.

Competitions

We have two competitions for you at CPH:LX 2015:

Thursday:

Intermediate J&J (ONLY for dancers

with 2 years of experience or less)

Prelims: 21.45

Finals: 23.30

Saturday:

Advanced J&J (Any level can sign up)

Prelims: 20.00

Finals: 22.30

A Jack & Jill (J&J) competition means that you sign up

without a partner, and that you get a random partner

in both prelims and finals. It’s a competition all about

improvisation and lead/follow.

You can sign up for both competitions at our Check-In

desk – it’s free. There is a limited amount of spaces

available though, so don’t wait too long!

All competitions take place at the main party venue, in

the grand ballroom.

We have great prizes for the both 1st, 2nd and 3rd

places in both competitions. So come have a fun

experience and a chance at winning one of the great

prizes!

Taster Classes

Solo Jazz with Shorty George (19.00 – 20.00, Tangobar)

You know the Shim Sham. You can kinda remember the Tranky Doo. Come play

with your rhythms with me and put some energy in your step. “Stomp stomp.

Start your hands a clappin’. Start your feet a tappin’.”

St. Louis Shag with Joan & Per (19.00 – 20.00, Søpavillonen, Grand Ballroom)

Shag Taster Class in St. Louis Shag is not to be confused with Collegiate Shag. St.

Louis Shag is primarily 8-count versus Collegiate Shags 6-count. St. Louis Shag

looks very refined and joyful. We will work on basic steps and fun variations.

Level: All levels are welcome

Musicality with Gosia & Kuno (19.00 – 20.00, Søpavillonen, Upper Ballroom)

Together we will investigate how to be more aware of the music as we

dance, as well as the different ways to be musical. You will learn how to

adjust one musical rhythm to many different moves and improvise new

rhythms of your own.

Level: All levels are welcome

Jams and Steals with Ash & Ben (20.00 – 21.00, Søpavillonen, Upper Ballroom)

In this class we will show you some creative ways to steal a partner from

within a Jam circle. Both leads and follows will learn some slick and

stealthy steals that keep the flow of dance along with musicality.

In this class you will learn how useful and playful are the Charleston

Swing Outs. We will see how they are such a powerful tool for your

dancing in so many levels such as relaxation, stretch, fast dancing, etc.

In this class you will learn a Charleston routine, with moves you can use
