Friday 11 th May 2018 Dear Parents, Pupils and Carers, Last Friday the PTFA hosted a cinema evening, complete with refreshments, which was very well attended by pupils who enjoyed the opportunity to watch, 'Boss Baby' with their friends. A big thank you to the Leopold PTFA for their generosity in giving up their time to plan, prepare, buy food and supervise the pupils. The pupils had a thoroughly enjoyable time and look forward to the next PTFA event. Next week is Year 6 assessment week. We wish all pupils the best of luck as they look forward to an exciting week. Thank you to parents and staff for the encouragement and support pupils have received. Free breakfast will be provided for all Year 6 pupils next week. Next week some Year 4 pupils will visit the Gordon Brown Outdoor Education Centre in Hampshire for a 5 day residential trip. All dietary requirements and medical forms should have been returned to the school office. In addition parents should have gone through the 'Code of Conduct Agreement' with their child, both signed the agreement and returned it to school. No pupils can go unless these documents are signed and returned. We wish the Gordon Brown party a safe and happy trip. A daily Gordon Brown diary with updates will be posted on the school website each day so that parents are kept informed. All parents are reminded that no holidays will be authorised during the school term. We are currently working with the Brent Educational Welfare Officer who is helping us to improve school punctuality and attendance. Pupils are expected to be in school every day and on time. This week pupils have been asked to hunt out books by Michael Morpurgo the author. Dami, Year 5 pupil, was the first to respond with 5 books by this bestselling author; Kesuke's Kingdom, War Horse, The Butterfly Lion, Born to Run and the 9 Lives of Montezuma. Liam Year 5 was second to respond with 'Beowulf.' All pupils are invited to take the Michael Morpurgo Challenge! Read 2 books by Michael Morpurgo and write a review that compares both books.
