Dear Parent/Carer,

The week kicked off in style with our World Book Day celebrations and the BLOB (Best Llanrhidian Outstanding Book) awards! The children worked hard preparing speeches to persuade each other to vote for their favourite book and enjoyed taking part in the ceremony where the winners were revealed.

It was the turn of Y1/2 to perform their Welsh assembly for parents this week. They thoroughly enjoyed practising and performing their play “Don’t Press the Red Button!” We were very proud of everybody for putting so much effort into learning their lines, acting and singing their hearts out! Y5/6 will be next to welcome parents to their Gwasanaeth Cymraeg (see dates below.)

We are looking forward to our Easter Eggstravaganaza and Museum Open Day on Tuesday March 27th. There are several competitions being held on that day, please see details below for more information.

Many thanks to all our parents and carers who are adhering to the safety guidelines for the “Drop Off Zone”. It is so important that we all work together to keep our children safe and we are very grateful for your support and compliance in these matters.

“Easter Celebrations and Museum Day” – Tuesday March 27 th We will be holding an Easter Eggstravaganza Day and Class Museums for everyone on this day. Our Easter Bonnet Parade and Gallery Event will take place from 1.30pm. Craft work will be displayed in the hall. Classroom will be museums following this and you will be able to see pupils’ work, displays and learn about their time in history.

The PTA will be providing refreshments. Please can you donate cakes for the cake stall, and let us know if you can help. All parents and members of the community are welcome to attend. Hopefully the sun will be shining and we can make use of outdoors too. Easter hampers will be put together for the raffle. The children will be asked to enter any or all of the following categories. All entries will receive a certificate.

All pupils will be showing off their work in their class museums. (We ask that hot drinks are not carried around the school). No doubt our little entrepreneurs will try and sell you some refreshments.

Drop off Zone:For the safety of your children, we continue to urge parents to adhere to the following guidelines at the “drop off” zone in the morning:

Engines should be switched off before allowing your children to exit the car.OR

Children should exit the car on the school side whenever possible. We suggest children sit in the back seat of the car so they can get out school side.

Parents are responsible for the safety of their children at all times.

Our Attendance Race!

Y1/2 are maintaining their lead with a termly total of 97.19%. They are currently the only class above the target of 96.85%. As a whole school we are now falling well below this target with a yearly running total of just 95.5%!
