Dear Kelsey Kids and Parents,
I hope you have had a good week. I’m so
excited about Friday File this week because we
have some exciting things happening here at
Kelsey Virtual Learning School!
This coming week, we will be hosting 3 virtual
grade 6-7 transition meetings. As well, our
students have started a thank you campaign for
our Frontline workers and Ms Nishikaze has
started our first virtual extracurricular: a spring
talent show! Information to follow in the File!
Nicole Miller, Interim PrincipalThank you, Catherine from 7D for this poster!
Every year, the students at Kelsey put on a Spring Talent show for the community to come
out and enjoy! The concert usually consists of the Band, Choir, special solo performances,
as well as an incredible Dragon dance to finish it off!
You are familiar with the saying, "The show must go on!" Well, we did not want to miss the
opportunity to continue with this tradition, even if it meant the show looking a little different.
We have decided to still go ahead with the concert--virtual style!
Students will have the opportunity to audition for the show and all the selected acts will be
compiled into a 'movie' format for everyone to enjoy. Because of the unique quarantine
situation that we are in, even siblings and parents can be involved in the act!
All the details for the audition are listed in the Music Google Classroom, including
deadlines.
I think this will be a wonderful way to be a part of making Kelsey history! The final movie
can also be shared with our local seniors home and other community members to enjoy.
We are really excited to see what our students come up with and seeing the final concert of
the 2019-2020 school year!"

workers!
As part of a larger project
supported by our amazing
Child and Youth Counsellor,
Emily Portelles, our kids have
until next Friday to
submit...I’m giving you a
sneak peak over the next
couple of pages. We will send
out the whole group of them
when it is all submitted!
What a talented bunch of kids
we have here! And even more
importantly, a group full of
gratitude during this time!
I’m proud of Kelsey Kids!
Katherine and Varshan are the awesome
contributors to this lip sync! I’m putting it
here because I made a clerical error and
posted the wrong name. Sorry Varshan!
This is great!!

This week is truly bittersweet. Our
wonderful Mr. Frempong is
leaving us as Ms Michaelides is
returning from her leave. We are
so grateful for his leadership,
kindness and commitment to our
students. The students made Mr.
Frempong a wonderful slide show
with videos and comments about
how much they are going to miss
him. I’m including a few pictures
here. What a terrific impact he has
had. We will miss you, Mr.
Frempong.
On the next page, you will see
the weekly Guidance
Challenge! This week, taking
breaks that are restful and
rejuvenating is our challenge!

Ms Langan is at it again - making people feel great! She has created these
beautiful painted rocks and has placed them around her neighbourhood to
make people smile when they are out for walks. Thank you, Ms. Langan!
