▶ If you only want an over-the-counter (OTC) license, submit a leftover draw application, leave choices 1-4 blank and select your OTC license

as your unsuccessful option. OTC licenses will also go on sale August 9, starting at 9 a.m.

HOW DO I APPLY FOR A LEFTOVER LICENSE?A. Apply for the leftover draw online

the same way you applied for the primary draw (instructions are also on the second page of this letter). Or call 800-244-5613 to apply by phone.

B. Applications are for individuals only, not groups.

C. Determine your first, second, third and fourth choice hunt codes using the enclosed hunt-code list (remember, method of take: A=Archery, M=Muzzleloading, R=Rifle)

D. Successful applicants will have the credit card they have on file in their account charged after the draw. The payment deadline is August 1.

E. ELK APPLICANTS can select the unsuccessful option of purchasing over- the-counter rifle or archery licenses, valid in numerous units throughout the state (see pages 34–37 of the 2018 Big Game brochure for maps)If a limited license isn’t wanted, hunters will also be able to purchase remaining leftover and reissued licenses at 9 a.m. on August 7 or OTC licenses at 9 a.m. on August 9.

B. If you draw a leftover license, your license will be mailed by JULY 25.

C. DO NOT BUY ANOTHER LICENSE for the same species at a license agent until after you receive the results of your application.

D. You CANNOT apply as a group in the leftover drawing.E. Youth receive preference for all hunt codes in the leftover

These licenses are made available first through the leftover draw to hunters who were unsuccessful in the 2018 primary draw. After the leftover draw, the licenses remaining from the list below will be released for public purchase on a first-come, first-served basis. Leftover licenses go on sale to the general public at 9 a.m. (MDT) on August 7 online, in person and by phone.
