CLUB/PROJECT MINUTES

Little Miss and Little Mister Cloverbud Program

This year was the 5th year of our Little Miss and Little Mister Cloverbud program! The intention

of this program/contest is to grow our youth within 4-H, their knowledge of

4-H, and to have a Little Miss and a Little Mister represent 4-H throughout the year.

From the beginning, the intention of the Trempealeau County Little Miss and Little Mister 4-H

Cloverbud program has been to offer our youngest 4-H youth the unique opportunity to:

• Grow their knowledge and understanding of 4-H

• Develop their confidence and leadership skills

• Encourage 4-H involvement on a club, community, county level, and beyond

• Represent the 4-H youth of Trempealeau County at various activities and events, all while

continuing to grown in their own confidence and leadership abilities

At the Trempealeau County Fair we had the Little Miss and Little Mister Cloverbud Ceremony.

At this ceremony our four contestants for the 2019 contest were able to be

interviewed and answered questions on stage. After the interviews we announced and

crowned the 2019 Little Miss and Little Mister.

Our four contestants for this year were:

• Adelaide Jessie

• Tristan Johnson

• Aubrey Hogden

• Kinley Giemza

Congratulations to Kinley

Giemza and Tristan

Johnson, both of

G/H Creek Busy Bees 4-H club,

for becoming Trempealeau

County 4-H 2019 Little Miss

and Little Mister Cloverbud!

On July 7th, 2019 the Glasgow Hardies Creek Busy Bees met at the Glasgow Hardies Creek Community School House. After the American

and 4-H pledge Alexi read the secretary’s report and we didn’t get a treasurer’s report due to the reports weren’t finished for that month yet.

Alexi reminded the members present that there were shifts that still needed to be filled for the fair. Our club then all agreed on for the fair clean

- up that we wouldn’t meet as a whole club, we would just meet with our project groups and discuss about their plans. Heidi then told the group

that she received a donation from the Brewer’s. This donation was from when we asked teams and businesses for donations for last year’s

community service project. We then brainstormed ideas of how we could raffle it off. In the end we decided that we would have her talk to peo-

ple we know that have a raffle license and see if they could help us out so we could get money and put that to cover the remaining expenses.

The members then participated in the “buzz word” communication. Our meeting was then motioned to be adjourned and passed.

Respectfully, Aleah Hunter

Get your clubs meeting minutes in the newsletter! Submit your minutes from your last meeting for admission in the CLOVER dispatch so your members can see the highlights and

ANNOUNCEMENTS

4-H Record Books

We are excited to announce that we have come out with more options on how to make a 4-H record book! I

wanted to recognize that there are different ways that youth like to do things and that there are different ways to

put together a Record Book that will best represent the youth and their experience in the 4-H program that year.

Also, it should be noted that you can still do the ‘Traditional Record Book’ as well if you’d like to—that option

has not gone away!

Check out information on Trempealeau County Record Books on our website here: https:// trem-

pealeau.extension.wisc.edu/4hyd/forms-applications/record-books/ OR check out the 4-H Record Book Guide

for Trempealeau County.

CLUB AND PROJECT LEADERS: 4-H Club/Project Charters

4-H Charters are very important for a 4-H Club, or chartered project, to have completed. This process should not be taken lightly and should

involve all members of the 4-H club—so be sure to start now! It is a great opportunity to go over your clubs goals and to work as a team.

Information and forms about charts can be found on the website here: https://trempealeau.extension.wisc.edu/4hyd/forms-applications/ and if

you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask Sarah Tanis.

The deadline to return the completed Charter to the Extension Office is October 15th.

Thank you Notes

Remember to write thank you notes to those who sponsored trophies you won at the Fair and also to

auction buyers. The addresses of the trophy sponsors are on the bottom of the trophies.

ALSO, take time to thank your family members, friends, club members, or volunteers if they helped you

with anything to get your animals ready, your projects ready, or helped with pick-ups and such. We need

to make sure we are being thankful to those around us who support us and make our opportunities reali-

ties! This includes our wonderful fair board members who made the Trempealeau County Fair possible!

Becoming a 4-H Volunteer

4-H Volunteers are valued partners in working with our youth and help make

4-H possible. In order to volunteer, previous 4-H Youth Development expe-rience is not necessary. The most im-portant qualification is a desire to work with young people and help them grow through educational experiences and

gain positive life skills. Please consider sharing your time and talents! Adult

volunteers working together with youth make a difference in the lives of young

people.

Volunteers work with UW-Extension professionals to develop the life skills of youth members, thus benefiting the state, employers, and the economy.

Volunteers extend the resources of UW-Extension as they work with staff to deliver educational programs. Volun-teering is a privilege. How does one become a volunteer? If you have not

already done so, go to Wisconsin 4HOnline and create a family profile.

If your family is already in the system, do not create a new family profile, just make sure you are entered into your

family account and check that you want to be a 4-H volunteer. Then sign-up to

take the Online Mandated Reporter Training for 4-H Volunteers. After sign-ing up for the Online Mandated Report-

er Training sign up to attend a VIP Training session Once you’ve complet-

ed your Online Mandatory Reporter training and VIP training, a background check will be conducted on you by the state and you will be contacted by GIS through e-mail requesting additional information needed in order for the

state to conduct the background check.

THE NEXT VIP TRAINING IS OFFERED

ON WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 19th!

If you are interested email Sarah Tanis to schedule a time and

location on the 19th to be trained!

NEW 4-H FAMILIES WEBSITE

We are very excited to announce that we have a website for new 4-H

families! This is a way we are hoping to help new 4-H families

adjust to 4-H wording, events, and projects that we do!

4-H can be a lot to take in, so let us

help you as best we can! If there is something that you think should be added to the new family website, please let us know and

we’ll be sure to include it! The website can be found here:

UW-EXTENSION UPCOMING

EVENTS CALENDAR We now have a UW-Extension calendar up on our website that will also be home to all of the

upcoming 4-H events and deadlines! Check out what we have going on and stay up-to-date! We will post all 4-H events and

deadlines on here so you have a place to see live up-dates!
