PACIUGO Italian Gelato Caffe (214-654-9501), through franchisees, plans to open 100 locations this year, including two locations in Dallas, TX and one location in Austin, TX. The company currently operates 41 locations, offering Italian-style gelato, nationwide and throughout Mexico.

Target Corp. (612-304-6073) is planning to open two Target stores in the Bay Area of CA. The company plans to open a store in a 117,826 sq.ft. former Home Depot Expo Design Center situated on 10 acres at the intersection of 40th Street and San Pablo Avenue in Oakland. The company also plans to construct a 138,000 sq.ft. store at @First, a 39-acre mixed-use project located at the intersection of North First Street and Highway 237 in San Jose, CA. Both locations are slated to open during 2011.

PetSmart, Inc. (623-580-6100) plans to open a 17,800 sq.ft. PetSmart store in a former Goody’s site in Rivertowne Square, located along Dr. M. L. King Jr. Boulevard in New Bern, NC. The store will open during the summer and join Walmart and Books-A-Million at the center.

Tasti D-Lite, LLC (615-550-3012), through franchisees, plans to open as many as 300 Tasti D-Lite frozen dessert parlors nationwide during the next several years, including locations in Boca Raton and Delray Beach, FL slated to open during the next several months. The stores offer more than 100 flavors of soft serve desserts. The company introduced its franchise model during 2008. In 2009, the chain entered AZ, FL, NJ, NY, TN and TX. For 2010, the company looks to enter CA, CT and IL.

Price Chopper Supermarkets, Inc. (714-300-6752) is planning to open a 60,000 sq.ft. Price Chopper supermarket in Middletown, CT during the summer. The store will feature “green” building features to minimize the building’s environmental impact and will be the company’s eighth location in CT.

Harp’s Food Stores, Inc. (479-751-7601) is planning to open a 31,000 sq.ft. Harp’s Food Store on four acres along Highway 65 in Greenbrier, AR. The store will feature a full-service gas station and a bakery department. The company currently operates 64 grocery stores throughout AR, MO and OK.

Supervalu, Inc. (952-828-4000) plans to open 100 Save-A-Lot grocery stores this year as part of a plan to double the number of Save-A-Lot sites nationwide to 2,400 units during the next five years. The company is looking to open Save-A-Lot stores in three shuttered Jewel Osco sites in Chicago, IL: at the intersection of 31st Street and Halsted Street, at the intersection of 115th Street and Halsted Street and at the intersection of Burr Oak Avenue and Vincennes Road. Jewel-Osco is one of the company’s larger, full-service grocery concepts.

Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc. (405-745-1100) plans to open a 55,000 sq.ft. Hobby Lobby store at Shoppes of Fairlawn, located in Fairlawn, OH, during September. The company is also planning to open a store in Macedonia, OH, possibly in a 55,000 sq.ft. former Tops Supermarket site at Macedonia Commons.
