What does the resurrection of Jesus mean to you? Is it simply an event in the distant past with little relevance for 2018 or does it affect how you think and act each day? Many people look at Easter as an occasion for purchasing new clothes (I vividly remember white shoes and a wide, white belt complementing an Easter outfit as a child) and going to church. But it’s not just a day to celebrate the empty tomb and then move on as if nothing has changed. Since we didn’t personally witness the risen Christ after His burial, imagining that first Easter morning is difficult. Not only that, but our traditional celebrations and familiarity with the story make it easy to overlook the stunning magnitude of what transpired. Then we run the risk of
taking the resurrection for granted and missing the impact it still has today. In 1 Corinthians 15:13-17, Paul gives us a glimpse of the resurrection’s importance by describing what would have happened if Jesus had not been raised. Our Easter celebrations would be a big lie, and our faith would be worthless. Worst of all, we’d still bear the guilt of every sin we’ve ever committed—with no hope of forgiveness, salvation or eternal life in heaven. If Jesus hadn’t been raised, His death would have accomplished nothing. That’s why Easter is an awesome reason for celebration. Jesus died in our place and we stand forgiven. Billy Graham said of forgiveness that it is one of the most beautiful words in the human vocabulary. I wonder as we celebrate Easter, is there anyone you might need to forgive. I wonder if there is a Christian brother or sister that has wounded you and in all likelihood there is because we’re human. I can’t think of a better time to offer someone forgiveness than at Easter. In reading the book Good Call by Jase Robinson, Jase put it this way; “Wake up every morning thinking about the cross, because it gives you the ability to start over again and to forgive others.” Easter is a wonderful time to celebrate our Savior and to offer someone forgiveness. May Christ be glorified!
I can’t believe how fast this year is flying by. Our kids are learning and growing so much in their knowledge of Christ along with academics. Our teachers are really dedicated to their calling and that is what makes our Kindergarten one of the best! We have a busy month coming up with Spring Break, field trip at McLeod Farms, and Doughnuts for Dads. Our Preschoolers will also sing some of our favorite Chapel songs for you on April 15 at the Sunday evening service.
Please continue to pray for our Kindergarten as we strive to reach families that are unchurched. If you would like to be a part of our Facebook page to see what is happening, please request to join our page, Kelleytown Baptist Kindergarten. Thank you for the donations to the scholarship fund. With your help, we have been able to offer a scholarship for
the rest of this school year to a family who had a house fire and lost everything.
In Christ ,
Tammy Johnson

Mission Trip to Bethlehem, PA - June 23-30
This summer we have one mission trip lined up so far to minister alongside Travis and Grace Ross and their church plant, Star City Church. Travis and
Grace are church planters through the North American Mission Board so they are
supported through our offerings to the Cooperative Program as well as the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering.
Travis is a native of Hartsville and grew up at Lakeview Baptist, Grace is actually from Bethlehem. They have
asked us to come alongside them this summer to minister at a homeless shelter, soup kitchen, and other service projects throughout Bethlehem, which is known as Christmas City. We will leave on Saturday the 23
and drive halfway, and then continue on to Bethlehem on Sunday beginning our ministry on Monday morning. For fun one day, we will travel a short distance down the road to Hershey Park.
Raceway Ministries at Darlington Raceway - September 1-3, 2018
This coming year brings many challenges for our Raceway Ministries in Welsh Neck Baptist Association. As we expand our ministry we will be in need of some folks to drive golf carts. We need to transport the handicap from the parking area to the elevators and back. About 30 teams will trade off during the day. An application to be a part of this particular ministry at the “track to tough to tame” is
in the church office. Your help will be greatly appreciated this Labor Day weekend.
Our KBC Kindergarten children will lead us in worship by singing several songs during the evening worship on Sunday, April 15th.
You'll want to come that evening as our
kindergarten children sing their praises to God!
