CASING (BEDROCK AT 6.0') Interbanded quartzite, argillite (non radioactive)
gray, fine qtzite showing slight schistosity with minor diss. potpy d.%) Argillite bands 2'-3' thick alternate with grey qtzite-contacts may be sharp or gradational. Argillite is grey, highly sheared with minute qtz. stringers at 60 0 to core axis and cross shearing at 45 0 to core axis. Diss. py up to ^ not uncommon. Occasional qtz veins at 45 0 to core axis. 12.5' -Bedding Plane at 61 0 to core axis.
IMPURE QUARTZITE
Fine to medium, grained, light grey, slightly sheared impure qtzite. Occasional l"-2" argillite band at 60 0 to core axis. Few minor pink-white qtz. veins 5 mm wide. Fracture surfaces are often slightly gossany. Qtzite contains mica flakes and abundant fine grained mafic minerals.
31.7' -40.0' : medium to coarse grained, 2-3 mm grain size.92.0' - 96.0' : fracturing 11 to core axis. 125* shearing becoming stronger.
Slight radioactivity assoc. with fracturing or shearing at 54', 76', 81' 64', 201.7' to 202.6'
