World Selection
Whenever you create a new character, you will need to choose what server you would like to
play on. The World Selection screen will give you a handy breakdown of the servers available to
you and their status.
Status Lets you know if the server is running at the moment. Every game server/world has a unique name, in order to play with friends, you need to
know what world they are playing on and choose that server to create your character on. TypePvP and PvE.
o PvP is a "Player vs. Player" server. This means that you will be able to attackplayers of the opposite morality at any time in the open world. Of course, playersof the opposite faction will be able to attack you at any time as well.
o PvE is a "Player vs. Environment" server. This means that players can only harmone another in PvP (Player vs. Player) specific scenarios (see On Duty foradditional information).
PopThe current population level on that server (compared to the maximum number ofsimultaneous players allowed).
CharsThe current number of characters playing on that server. Navigate this menu with the mouse. Make selections on this menu by clicking the left mouse button. Select the server you would like to play on and then left click the "Accept" button.
Character Creation
Build your DC Universe Online character by selecting from a variety of gameplay and
appearance options.

Getting Started
Hover over the menu items with the mouse to preview an option. Make your selection byLeft-Clicking menu button. You may view the character from all angles by holding theLeft Mouse Button over the character and moving the mouse left/right. This control is
consistent throughout the character creation process.
Choose your character's gender. Choose from the Small, Medium, or Large body types. Hovering over items with the
mouse will provide a preview. Make your selection by Left-Clicking menu button.
Choose between creating a "Custom" character, or a character that is "Inspired By" aniconic DC character. Creating a Custom character will step you through each of the
gameplay options (Morality, Personality, Mentor, Power, Movement Mode, and
Weapon), allowing you to choose each option one at a time. Choosing an Inspired By
character will auto-populate gameplay options for your character and create a costume for
your character using the iconic hero or villain as an inspiration. If you choose to make anInspired By character, please skip down to Summary below.
Gameplay Options
If you choose to make a Custom character, you will need to make a series of important choices.
Hero or Villain: This is a core component to the journey you will take with this character. Personality: This will dictate some of the animations that your character will express
during the game, and is simply for flavor. It does not have any critical bearing on the
game.
Mentor: This decision is important to the path you will take through the game Power: Determines what abilities will become available to you as you progress and what
role you will play when doing group content (Raids, etc).
Fire & IceThese are "tank" roles and generally have higher defense and/or health. Ingroup content these characters are responsible for keeping the enemies' attention andtaking the majority of the damage.
Gadgets & MentalThese are "controller" roles. In group content these charactersmanage the enemy swarms by stunning enemies and generally controlling how manyenemies are dangerous to the group at one time.
Nature & SorceryThese are "healer" roles. In group content these characters areresponsible for keeping the group alive by distributing health to the group members.
All powers include a Damage, or DPS (damage per second), role as well.
Movement Mode: This will specify how the character will get around the world. Theycan fly, run with super-speed, or jump and glide with acrobatics.

Weapon: The weapon you choose will determine what skills and fighting combos youobtain throughout the game.
Summary: When all gameplay options have been selected, you will be shown a summaryscreen. At that point, you may make adjustments to any of the gameplay options through thesummary menu, or you may choose to move on and customize the look of your character by
selecting "Costume."
Costume
Body: Change the appearance of your hair and skin. Gear: Modify the costume pieces that your character wears. Color : Modify your character's color palette and arrangement.
o Choose three colors to use for your "Gear" palette.o Choose one color each for your body options: Skin, Hair, Eyes, and Makeup.o To adjust your color palette, first click on swatch 1, 2, or 3 to indicate which color
you want to change, then click and drag the Color, Intensity, or Brightness sliders
to the left or right to adjust the color.
o The Color slider changes the hue of the color, the Intensity slider changes thesaturation of the color, and the Brightness slider changes the darkness of thecolor.
o Click the Accept button to accept your changes, or press the Cancel button torevert your changes and return to the previous menu.
Back: Gradually return to the Summary.
At any point in the Character Creation menu, you may click the "Back" button to go back to theprevious menu, or the "Abort" button to abandon your character and return to the Character
Selection screen.
When your character is set up the way you like, click the "Next" button to enter a name for your
character. After entering a name, click the "Finish" button to finalize your character. If there are
any issues with your character name (invalid name, already taken, etc.) you will be notified viathe information window on the right. Otherwise, your newly created character is ready to jump in
to DC Universe Online!

After a character has been created, the Character Selection screen will be the first screen you see
when you launch the game.
The left panel holds the list of your characters. They are listed with the most recentlyplayed on top.
The right panel contains information about the selected character, as well as informationregarding the server that the character is located on.
o You can quickly see if the server a character is on is Online by checking thismenu.
Navigate this menu with the mouse. Make selections on this menu with by clicking the left mouse button.
o Note that exiting out of this menu will exit the game.
Login Queue
There may be occasions where the server you would like to play on is incredibly busy. In thesesituations, you will be put into a login queue and allowed into the game on a first come, first
served basis.

The quick menu is opened by pressing F1 F4. Each button, F1 F4, opens a different quick
menu as described below. To exit the menu, press Esc.
Actions (F1)
The Actions section of the Quick Menu gives the player a concise rundown of the actions thatthe character is capable of at the time the menu is opened. The menu is navigated by using thedirectional arrows/mouse. The Actions section is divided into seven categories:

Role:
Toggle your Role by highlighting this option and pressing Enter. When this happens, you willsee an icon appear briefly above your character's head. Your default Role is Damage, represented
by the flame icon in the Player Unit Frame (see HUD section). This stance allows your character
to inflict the maximum DPS (damage per second). Your alternate Roles are primarily used forgroup Raids. Roles include Healer (responsible for keeping the group healthy), Tank (responsible
for taking the majority of the damage), and Controller (responsible for enemy crowd control).

Group Loot:
TheGroup Loot option appears when you are in a group, have your group loot option set to Master
Looter or Need Before Greed, and have obtained loot. Selecting this option from the quick
menu will bring up the Group Loot Window.
If you are in a group, when loot drops that is above your Group Loot threshold (see Social Menu
for more details), and you are set to either Master Looter or Need Before Greed, you will need
to access a Group Loot window.
If you have group loot that needs to be handled, an icon will appear on your HUD to letyou know. You may press the "L" key to access the Group Loot Window.

If there are no group loot items in the queue, you will not be able to open the Group LootWindow.
Need Before Greed:
In
Need Before Greed mode, you will see a list of the current items on which rolls are needed.

Each item has a timer bar that indicates how much time is remaining until that item isdistributed.
When you mouse over an item you will see the item tooltip on the left side panel. For each item in the list, you may click on "Need" to roll for the item as something you
need, or "Greed" to roll for the item as something that you don't need, or "Pass" to abstain
from rolling for the item. When there are no more items on which to roll, the window will automatically close. The outcome of the Roll will appear in the Loot chatbox window.
Master Looter:
If you are the Master Looter for your group, you will see the current item up fordistribution in the left side panel, and a list of players eligible to receive the item in theright-side panel.
Click on the "Assign Item" button next to the person's name to assign the current item tothat person.
When the current item is assigned, the next item in the queue will automatically bedisplayed for you to assign. This will continue until there are no more items to assign, at
which point the window will close automatically.
You may click the red button at the top right of the window to close the window. As longas there is still group loot remaining to assign, you may reopen the window again.
Toggle PVP:Toggle PVP on and off by highlighting this option and pressing Enter. This will determine if youcan be attacked in the open world by other players. If you choose to toggle PvP off, there will be

a ten (10) minute delay before the change goes into effect. This setting cannot be toggled in PVP
(Player vs. Player) matches and is only valid for the open world on PVE servers.
Current Combos:
This
list displays the current combos your character is capable of unleashing on enemies. Beneath thenames are the key sequences specifying how to perform each combo. This list will change based
on the Skills purchased (see Traits section), the stance your character is in (see Stance above),
and the form that your character has taken (i.e., has temporarily transformed into somethingelse).

Current Abilities:
Thislist displays the current abilities your character is capable of using. Highlight the ability names
and press Enter to see descriptions of what each ability does. This list will change based on the
Powers purchased (see Traits section), the stance your character is in (see Stance above), and the
form that your character has taken (i.e., have they temporarily transformed into something else).
Current Effects:
This displays the list of current effects that your character is using and the effects that arecurrently being used against you (see also the Current Effects (F3) section later in this Guide).
Current DebuffsThis displays the list of current debuffs that have been inflicted on your character (see also theCurrent Effects (F3) section later in this Guide).
Canned Chat/Emotes (F2)
Canned Chat is a list of preset sayings, divided up into categories, which you can use to quickly
communicate with other players. Emotes are a list of preset, non-combat animations that you can
make your character perform in-game.

Navigate this menu with the directional arrows/mouse. Pressing Enter on Canned Chat category will display the sayings associated with that
category. Pressing Enter on a Canned Chat saying will broadcast it to all players in close proximity. Pressing Enter on an Emotes category will display the player action emotes associated
with that category.
Pressing Enter on an Emote will make your character perform the emote action.

Current Effects (F3)
Current Effects shows the list of current effects that your character is using and the effects that
are currently being used against them. Current Effects also shows the list of debuffs that areinflicted on your character.
Navigate this menu with the directional arrows/mouse. Pressing Enter on the title of the effect or debuff will reveal the description of what it
does.
Social (F4)

The Social Menu allows you to connect with other players. Within the Social Menu you can:
Find and stay in contact with friends. Inspect other players. Form a group. Form a League. Ignore other players. Chat with other players and keep track of voice and text chats.
Below is an overview of all the available Social Menu options:
Nearby:
Shows you all players that are in close proximity to your character. Clicking on a player's name
will allow you to Inspect them to see their level, League affiliation and what type of gear they
are wearing.

Friends:
Shows which of your friends is online and allows you to add new players to your Friends list.
League:
If you are in a League, this option will show which of your League members are online, allowsyou to see their League rank, add new players to your League (if you have the necessary
permissions), and leave your League. For more advanced League Management options please
see League Management in the PDA section.

Group:
If you are in a Group, this option will display the members of your current group, allows you to
invite other players to your group, and leave the group.
Ignored:
Allows you to add a player to, or remove a player from, your Ignore list. You will not be able tocommunicate with any players via text or voice chat who are on your Ignore list. You will also
not be able to see any text or chat communications from players who are on your Ignore list.

Recent Text:
Allows you to see the names of players who have recently used text chat in the text channel that
you're currently in.
Recent Voice:
Allows you to see the names of players who have recently used voice chat in the voice channelthat you're currently in.

This frame will give you vital information about your character:
Character Name: Shows the name of your character. Role Icon: The icon next to your character name indicates the current role your character
is fulfilling: offensive damage, or group role (tank, healer, or controller, depending on
your power type).
Health Bar: The green bar indicates your character's current health. If this bar becomesdepleted, your character will be knocked out. Health will regenerate over time if you arenot engaged in combat or can be regenerated using consumables such as Soder Cola.
Power Bar: The blue bar indicates your character's current power. Most abilities require acertain amount of power to use. Power will regenerate over time or can be regeneratedquickly using consumables.
Supercharge Meter: This meter at the bottom of the frame fills as you perform basicattacks and defeat enemies. Some powerful abilities require a certain amount of
supercharge to use.
Player Level: Your character's current level is displayed next to the health and powerbars.
Movement Mode Indicator: A small wing indicator extends from the left of the framewhen you are in your movement mode.
PVP Indicator: A small skull icon extends from the right of the frame when you areflagged for PVP
Effect Indicators: A panel will extend below the frame when you have stat effects(special status effects like buffs or debuffs) applied to your character. A green icon means
you have a net positive effect for that stat, a red icon means you have a net negative
effect for that stat, and a flashing red icon means you have several negative effects forthat stat, for which you should probably seek assistance.

Enemy Unit Frame
This frame will give you valuable information about your targeted enemy:
Enemy Name: Shows the name of the targeted enemy Frame Type: The color of the frame indicates the size of group for which this enemy is
intended. A red frame means this is meant for solo players, a purple frame means this is
meant for a group of players, and a black frame means this enemy is meant for a raid.
Enemy Icon: Indicates the role of the currently targeted enemy player, or the relativestrength of the enemy NPC (i.e. a boss or a non-boss NPC).
Health Bar: The green bar indicates the current health of the enemy. Enemy Level: The current level of the enemy is displayed next to the health bar. PVP Indicator: A small skull icon extends from the left of the frame when the enemy
player is flagged for PVP.

Effect Indicators: A panel will extend below the frame when the enemy has stat effectsapplied.
Minimap
The Minimap will help you navigate the world at-a-glance and show you important information
about your surroundings:
Blue Cone: Indicates the direction your camera is facing.

Yellow Arrow: Directs you towards your current mission. Orange X: Indicates a destination of your current mission. Orange Overlay: Indicates the region of the map in which your current mission objectives
can be found.
Green Arrow/Green X: Directs you towards your player-created waypoint. White Round Pips: Objects with which the player can interact. Red Round Pips: Enemy NPCs.
Green Round Pips: Friendly NPCs.

Chevron Up or Down: Indicates that the entity is above or below you respectively. Diamond Shaped Pips: Indicate other players (as opposed to NPCs).
o Red: Attackable enemy players.o Purple: Unattackable enemy players.o Green: Friendly players.o
Blue: Group members.o Diamond Pip with Chevron Up or Down: Indicates the player is above or below
you respectively.
Mission Tracker
Located on the right side of your screen, the Mission Tracker allows you to keep track of missionobjectives at-a-glance:
Displays the current step(s) of your active mission (from the Mission Journal). Indicates if you need to go to a different area for your active mission. Indicates if you need to go to your Mission Journal to complete the mission. Will sometimes display important information (such as reminding you to spend your skill
or power points).
Group

Displays a small unit frame for each of the members of your group and their pets. Member Name: Displays the name of the group member. Member Role: Icon indicates the current role fulfilled by the group member. Member Level: Displays the current level of the group member. Member Health: Green bar indicates the current health of the group member. Member Power: Blue bar indicates the current power of the group member.
Chat Window

Enter the chat window by pressing either "Enter" or "/" on your keyboard. Maximize the chatwindow by left-clicking the box in the upper right corner of the chat window. Click the box
again to return the window to normal size.
TextChat:
Select your chat channel by left-clicking the word next to the text field. This will display a list of
the various text channels available. Left-click the channel you want to chat in to select it. You
can only chat in one channel at a time.

Say Shout Group League Trade
Versus Arena
Text chat tabs are the bottom row of tabs in the top of the chat window. Left-click a tab to view
it. Custom tabs can be added via the Options Menu (see Options).
Voice Chat:The upper row of tabs at the top of the chat window represent the voice chat channels available
to you. Left-click a tab to start listening to, and talking in, that channel. Custom channels can be
added via the Options Menu (see Options).
Ability Tray
Slots 1-6 display your currently loaded out special abilities. Slot 7 displays your currently equipped consumable item. Slot 8 displays your currently equipped trinket. When an ability is on "cooldown" a red countdown overlay is applied to the icon. You
will not be able to use the ability again until the countdown is complete.
When you do not have enough power (or supercharge) to execute an ability, its icon isfaded out until the power cost requirements are met.
If a supercharge ability is loaded out, it will have a special supercharge ring meter aroundthe icon. The ring meter will fill based on that ability's specific supercharge requirement.

The purple bar beneath the ability tray indicates your current experience progress towardsthe next level.
PDA
Inventory
Your Inventory is the place where you can view and use all of the items you're currently
carrying. It also provides detailed information about what each of the items does.
The Inventory panel is opened by pressing I on the keyboard. To exit the menu, press Esc. The menu is navigated by using the directional arrows, or mouse. There are three tabs in the Inventory that can be navigated by selecting with the mouse
(PC).

Items:
TheItems tab of the Inventory displays all of the equipable, consumable, and sellable items that you
collect throughout the game. You can see how these items appear on your character via the
character image on the left of the menu. When an item is highlighted, the character image will
change to a tooltip.
Inaddition to the name and description of the item, a tooltip will include requirements to equip the
item (e.g., 'Requires Level 30') and the "stat deltas" that you would incur if you equipped this
item (i.e., how much better or worse will this item be compared to the one you currently haveequipped).

To equip an item, highlight it with the cursor and right mouse click. You may also dragthe item using the mouse and release onto the character image to equip it.
To unequip an item, right mouse click. You may also drag the item using the mouse andrelease it off of the equipment slot to unequip it.
To move an item around use the mouse by clicking and dragging, or by clicking once tosnap the item to the cursor and clicking once more to place it.
You may split a stack of items using the mouse by double clicking on the item stack andchoosing the desired quantity.
To delete an item drag and drop it over the 'trash can' icon using the mouse.Stats:
TheStats tab of the Inventory displays the current attributes of the player (numbers include
modifications from equipment).
Left mouse click to see descriptions of each attribute.

Currency:
TheCurrency tab of the Inventory displays the currency (Cash and Influence) and any badges the
player has accumulated. Badges are obtained through select PvP matches and end-game group
content (Raids, etc). Badges are required by certain Vendors to buy high-level gear.
Left mouse click to see badge descriptions.
Style
The Style section of the PDA allows you to customize the look of your character without
sacrificing the stat bonuses of the items you currently have equipped. Any time you equip an
item, it gets added to your list of Styles. You don't need to keep it equipped, or even keep it at all(you can sell it to a Vendor), to keep the appearance. You simply need to set the appearance via
the Style panel and then equip whatever item gives you the best stats.
The Style panel is opened by selecting the 'mask' icon in the PDA. To exit the menu, press Esc. The menu is navigated by using the directional arrows, or mouse.
There are two tabs in the Style panel that can be navigated by selecting with the mouse.

Styles:
TheStyles tab is where you'll alter the costume elements that are seen on your character. The Style
tab also allows you to lock/unlock each slot. Locking a slot will prevent it from being updated by
new equipment changes.
Left mouse click a section to expand it, revealing the available appearance styles. To set an appearance, select a style and left mouse click. To lock the section from updating appearance when collecting new items, left mouse
click the Lock button in the bottom right corner of the section.

To customize the color of the appearance item, left mouse click the Colorpicker button inthe top right corner of the section.
o To customize the arrangement of colors select Color Slot 1, 2, or 3 to indicatewhich color slot you want to change, then click on swatch 1, 2, or 3 at the bottom
of the menu to assign that color to the chosen slot. When you are satisfied, press
the Save button to accept your changes. You may also press Esc to revert yourchanges.
Colors:
The
Colors tab of the Style panel gives you the ability to adjust the color palette used throughout yourcharacter's costume. You may choose three colors to use for your "Gear" palette, and one colorfor each of your body options: Skin, Hair, Eyes, and Makeup (the Makeup option can sometimes
function as a "secondary" body color).

Select Gear, Skin, Hair, Eyes, or Make-Up with the mouse. To adjust your color palette, first select swatch 1, 2, or 3 to indicate which color you want
to change. You can do this with the mouse. Then adjust the color with the sliders below.
o The Color slider changes the hue of the color.o The Intensity slider changes the saturation of the coloro The Brightness slider changes the darkness of the color.
Sliders can be adjusted by moving them left or right with the mouse. Click the Save button to accept your changes. Simply navigate away from the Color tab
to revert your changes.
Journal
The Journal provides information about all of your current missions:
Mission Menu:

Displays all of the current missions that your character has in his or her journal. The active mission is highlighted green in the list of missions. Mission Name: The name of the mission is listed at the top of the mission menu item. Mission Difficulty: The icon on the left of the mission menu item indicates if the mission
is intended for one player, (orange icon) or for multiple players (purple icon). If a missionis complete, a green questionmark icon will be displayed here.
Mission Region and Level: The text on the bottom of the mission menu item indicates theregion in which the mission takes place, and the level of the mission.
Mission Summary:

Mission Name: The mission name is displayed at the top of the summary window. Mission Description: A description of the mission is displayed just below the title. Communicator: You will see the image from your communicator here. Objectives Panel: The objectives for this mission are displayed in the left most area of the
bottom panel. Completed objectives are lit green.
Message Panel: Text from your communicator is displayed in the right side of the bottompanel when the message tab is active.
Rewards Panel: Cash and/or item rewards for completing this mission are displayed inthe right side of the bottom panel when the rewards tab is active.
Complete: If all of the objectives for this mission are complete, click the "Complete"button to finish the mission and claim the rewards (note that some missions require you
to select a reward in order to complete; also you must have sufficient inventory space toreceive the reward items before you may complete the mission).
Activate: You may click the "Activate" button to make the mission you are currentlyviewing your active mission (the active mission will be displayed in your mission trackerin the HUD; note that your mission does not need to be active in order to complete
objectives).
Click on the "Message" or "Reward" tabs over the bottom right panel to switch betweenthe Message and Reward Panes.
Mouse over a reward item in the Reward Pane to view a tooltip of that item. To choose a selectable reward, click on one of the faded reward items in the Reward
Pane.
Click the blue arrow button in the top right corner of the window to close the summaryand return to the Mission Menu.

The Traits menu gives you a place to purchase new skills and powers to enhance your character.Opening up the Traits menu will show three options, Powers, Skills and Loadouts.
Powers:
Powers are based on your power type. There is also a set of Iconic Powers from which you can
choose after meeting specific level requirements.

Skills:
Skillshas two subcategoriesWeapons and Movement. The weapon you selected in character create is
at the top of the list. All other weapons are locked until you reach level 10. Movement mode
skills are locked until level 9.

Powers and Skill Trees:
When you advance a level, you are given points to spend on different abilities in the Powers or
Skill trees.
Navigate a tree by using the mouse. Purchase skills/abilities by clicking the left mouse button.
Some traits have a prerequisite. A trait that has prerequisite has an arrow pointing to itfrom the trait above it. If the trait that the arrow is coming from is not purchased, thenyou cannot purchase this trait.

Loadouts:
Loadouts are a way to organize your abilities for your ability tray. You can customize uniqueloadouts for your role and damage stances (see Quick menu on how to change your current
stance). Some power types, like Ice and Nature, have shape-shifting abilities that will allow youto assume a different form. Each of these forms will receive a custom loadout as well.
Changing your Loadout:You can change your loadout by selecting a new ability from the lower area of the Loadouts
screen and then dragging the icon to the slot that you want it in. You can also drag and drop the
abilities within the ability tray at the top of the menu as well.

Renown dialog shows the factions that you hold renown with. Renown is earned by completing
certain missions.
Navigate the factions displayed in the Renown dialog by using the up and down arrowkeys or mouse.
A detailed description is displayed on the menu when a faction is highlighted.
To return to the Deeds menu press the Esc button.
Headlines:
TheHeadlines menu shows the list of Headlines you've earned and provides an opportunity to re-watch the cut-scenes that you've unlocked. Headlines are earned by defeating "boss" characters.
Navigate the list of Headlines by using the up and down arrow keys or mouse. Make a selection by clicking the left-mouse button, or pressing the Enter. This will begin
playback of the cut-scene. Once the cut-scene finishes playback you will be returned tothe Headlines menu.

Feats:
TheFeats menu shows you a list of "Feats", or challenges, which can be completed in the game. Feat
Points are awarded for completing Feats. If you earn enough Feat Points, you will be awarded an
additional Skill Point that can be spent in the Traits menu. The Feats menu will show you:
Feat categories. A summary of each Feat and their requirements (where applicable).

Which Feats are complete/incomplete. The difficulty of each Feat.
o Difficulty is represented by star icons. More stars = greater difficulty = larger number of Feat Points when
completed.
How many Feat Points are required to earn your next Skill Point. How close you are to mastering all the Feats that can currently be done in the game.
Navigate the Feats menu using the keyboard arrow keys or mouse. This will allow you to
navigate both the left list of categories and the Feats/requirements lists on the right.
Once focus is on a particular Feat, pressing Enter or clicking the left mouse button willexpand the Feat, allowing you to review the requirement list for that particular Feat.
If a Feat is in focus, and 'open', performing the same interaction again will close therequirements list.
Pressing Esc or clicking the up arrow icon at top right will close Feats and return you to the
Deeds menu.
Investigations, Player Briefs, and Collections
Investigations, Player Briefs, and Collections are the Green, Blue, and Gold glowing spheres
scattered throughout the game.

The Investigations, Player Briefs, and Collections menus provide a means of grouping, tracking,and inspecting all the glowing spheres that you've found. Each Investigation, Brief, and
Collection are part of a group that, when completed (i.e., all items in a particular group are
found), will yield a reward. Their menus all follow the same model for navigation and
interaction. Each consists of two sub-menus: (1) the category lists, and (2) the group lists.
Category List:
Navigate the category lists with the arrow keys or the mouse.

Press the left-mouse button to bring up a group list of collections, investigations, orplayer briefings related to the selected category.
Pressing Esc, or clicking the up arrow button on the top-right of the window, will exit outof the category list and return you to the Deeds menu.
Group List:

The Map will give you an overview of where you are and highlight key features around the area.
Open by pressing M or by selecting the 'globe' icon in the PDA. To exit press Esc. The menu is navigated by using the directional arrows or mouse. Waypoints, which appear on your minimap and guide you to specific locations, may be
placed on any selectable area on the map.

On Duty is used to access instances of Arenas, Alerts, Raids, Duos and Vaults. A player or groupof players may queue for an instance in this menu. As you level up, more and more scenarios

Dailies:
Arenas, Alerts, and Duos all can be done once per day for bonus rewards. Content with daily
rewards are denoted with a star icon.
Arenas:
Arenas are PvP (Player vs. Player) matches where players battle each other. You must be level
10 to access.

Queuing:To enter an Alert, Arena, Raid, Duo or Legends match, a player must enter a queue.
You may enter a queue as an individual or with a group. To enter a queue, select what you want to play and click it with the mouse. This will
reveal a list of instances. Select the instance you want to join by clicking on it with the
mouse. For Alerts, Duos and Raids this will bring up a Choose Role window. No role isneeded for PvP matches.

You may also take advantage of the "Play Now" option (highlighted in green). Thisoption will place you into the first available instance in that category. This is the easiest
and fastest way to get into the action. If you have a specific scenario you want to play,
you can choose that from the list.
Choosing a Role:
A character's role is based off of the power type chosen in character create. There are four
possible roles, Tank, DPS, Healer and Controller. All players may choose DPS when selecting arole. A player may choose more than one role.
Cancelling a Queue:Cancel a queue by clicking the cancel button with the mouse when the queued scenario is
highlighted. You may also cancel a queue by opening up the scenario and clicking the instance
button again.
Group Queuing:If a player is in a group, only the group leader can queue the group. Players that are not the group
leader will see a lock on the scenarios.

Pending Group Queues:
APlayer gets a pending group queue when the group leader queues the group for an Alert, Arena,
Raid, Legends match or Duo. The group leader's screen will turn into pending queue mode and
will show a small window for the other group members which will show who has responded to
the queue remission. The group members will receive a popup asking if they want to join thegroup queue which will send them into the on Duty menu in the PDA. The group members will
enter group queuing mode once in the On Duty menu in the PDA and see all of their group
members and who have responded. Once the group members have responded, the group will beplaced in the queue. Once their instance is ready, they will all receive a popup asking if they
want to enter the instance.

Reasons a player can be removed from a queue:
1. A queued player joins a group.2. A player left the group and the group was disbanded.3. A player in the group took too long to respond to the queue invite.

Ready Instances:
Aready instance occurs when a player gets a popup that a queue is ready but then doesn't enter
right away. The player is then given 100 seconds in which to enter the instance.
League Management
Select League to bring up the League Management window. This window gives you the ability
to view and manage League information and settings.

If you are not in a League, you can create one here. You must be in a full group of fourplayers in order to create a League. If you are in a group, simply enter a name for yourLeague and hit "Submit."
League leaders, and members with 'edit permissions' privileges, may modify rank namesand grant/revoke permissions based on those ranks.
The MOTD button displays the Message of the Day and allows those with 'edit MOTD'permissions to edit the MOTD.

Marketplace
The Marketplace is where you redeem promotional codes and claim in-game items.
Enter your code in the box provided on the left side of the screen. Be sure to include the"-" marks. Capitalization is not important.
When you've entered the entire code, select "Submit". Your promotional items will thenappear under the Claim Items column on the right side of the screen.
Highlight the item that you would like and select "Claim". Please note that you must haveroom in your inventory to claim an item.

Items can be purchased with in-game currency, Influence, or Tokens. In-game currency is represented with a dollar sign, Influence will be labeled as such, and
Tokens will have a picture of the token needed (see Inventory/Currencies section for

description of the item, a tooltip will include requirements to equip the item (e.g.,

Repair

Item benefits are gradually diminished the more an item is damaged. If an item loses alldurability no benefits from the item will be applied.
If your equipment is significantly worn, a broken shield icon will appear next to the mini-map on your HUD (see HUD section for more information). Choosing the Repair option
at a Vendor will restore items to their full durability. Items may be repaired individually
or all together.
Buy Back
This is a list of items you've recently sold to a Vendor. This gives you the opportunity topurchase them back, just in case a mistake was made.
Mailboxes can be found in each Safehouse, as well as in the Watchtower and Hall of Doom.
Mailboxes let you send and receive messages from other players. You may also receivemessages from Iconic DC characters.

If you have unread mail, you will see a mail icon next to the mini-map on your HUD (seeHUD section for more information).

When the Bank is opened, you will see your Inventory slots on the right side of the menuand your Bank slots on the left.
Move items by clicking and dragging to an available slot. If an item is moved to anoccupied slot the items will swap places.
You may also place items in your Shared Bank. You can reach the Shared Bank byclicking the "Shared Bank" button. The Shared Bank is shared amongst all your
characters on the same account and server. "No-trade" or bound items cannot be placed in
a Shared Bank.
Scorecard
At the end of PvP (Player vs. Player) matches, a scorecard will be displayed so that you can seehow you stacked up against your fellow players. The Scorecard has multiple pages of interesting
stats that you can go over for bragging rights.

Disconnected
As the name suggests, DC Universe Online is played 100% online. On rare occasion, servers
may need to be taken down for maintenance. During those times, if you attempt to login, you
will see the Disconnected screen. This screen will also appear if the server is brought down while
you are playing (though a warning will generally be messaged to all players beforehand lettingthem know when the server is coming down). If you see this screen, please try back again soon!
