DBR360 CASE STUDY
PARTNERING WITH
DIGITAL REALTY
TO OFFER CUSTOMIZED
CLOUD SOLUTIONS
DBR360 is a leading managed service provider that integrates advanced networking technologies and virtualization infrastructure into private and public cloud solutions. Headquartered in Fairfax, VA, DBR360 designs, builds and runs cloud, private network and IT infrastructures for enterprises, service providers and system integrators. DBR360’s unique capabilities incorporate our virtual data center environment, distributed carrier gateway deployments and professional service organization to deliver high performance, secure, scalable and cost-effective continuity between the application and the underlying network.
The Challenge:
Businesses are increasingly turning to data centers to serve as the starting
point for the implementation of a cloud strategy for storage, security, and
increased efficiency. Gartner, a leading IT research company, recently

announced that worldwide enterprise
public cloud service spending will reach
$207 Billion by 2016. The continued growth
of IT spending in today’s environment
underlines the desire of businesses to
go into a secure facility and have a cloud
strategy up and running.
“We provide infrastructure as service for
customized platforms along with industry-
leading orchestration engine, managed
network services and back-end storage.
Our need for leveraging a robust network
infrastructure into the cloud served as a
natural fit for Digital Realty’s high density
network interconnection services,” said
Anthony Lobretto, Vice President of
Engineering and Technology Solutions
for DBR360. “Most cloud providers offer
network connectivity limited to access over
the Internet.
“Many of our customers require private
networks that would provide greater levels
of performance, security and integration
with their existing corporate networks.
Oftentimes the network aspect of cloud
computing is overlooked.”
The Solution:CThe partnership with DBR360 came at an exciting cross-roads for Digital Realty. In early 2013, Digital Realty took
full control of their NJR2 facility located at 100 Delawanna Avenue in Clifton, New Jersey. The facility is one of
the most robust colocation centers in the New York City metro area with a full 2N power configuration and ample
telecommunication alternatives.
In addition, Digital Realty is nearing completion on their new facility located on the Clifton campus, NJR3, an
energy efficient and purpose-built Cloud Connection Center that will offer customized, high power density s
olutions for various business sizes across all industries and solidify Digital Realty’s cloud service offerings in the

New York and New Jersey markets. The three-story, flagship data center adds 215,000 gross sq.ft. of high power
density, energy efficient space and more than 100,000 sq.ft. of market-leading, customizable colocation space to
meet the growing requirements of global customers for heavily networked, outsourced solutions.
Like all of Digital Realty data centers, the
Digital Realty Clifton Campus is a managed,
carrier-neutral, secure environment for
enterprises, digital media and bio-pharm
companies, financial services, network
providers and carriers. The expanded
campus provides Digital Realty and DBR360
customers with access to an end-to-end
cloud and network infrastructure service
for IT organizations with enterprise class
performance.
The two facilities on the campus create a
unique location that allows a client to establish
physical redundancy in two completely
separate infrastructures and yet managed
by the same data center operator within the
same secure perimeter and now can employ
customized cloud solutions as well. DBR360’s
service leverages Digital Realty Connect
Portfolio, to rapidly provide customized
cloud-service options within both facilities.
DBR360’s tailored options reflect the need of
customers to have flexibility when deciding
upon application service providers, and cloud
architectures.””

“Partnering with DBR360 on this endeavor enhances Digital Realty’s role as a cloud enabler. The breadth of
network and cloud service providers within our facilities is a distinguishing advantage,” said John Freimuth, Digital
Realty’s General Manager of Cloud and Enterprise Solutions. “In many cases we have seen cloud providers lock
their clients into a small set network solutions. That’s not what we do. We are carrier agnostic by every sense of the
word. Some clients have preexisting relationships with carriers, and the flexibility of our network combined with the
customized solutions offered by DBR360, allows us to mirror our customers network architecture to their specific
needs within our facility.”
