Tribute Breakfast to the Families of the Fallen

The Prime Minister has declared May 9, 2014 as the Day of Honour to commemorate our soldiers who served in Afghanistan. The government is planning a full day of commemorative events in Ottawa, including:• A parade of 500 currently serving CAF members and veterans who were deployed to
Afghanistan, with the parade ending on Parliament Hill• Memorial service for the families of the fallen on Parliament Hill• An address by the Prime Minister to Canadians from Parliament Hill• 2 minutes of national silence• Special commemoration of the families of the fallen and soldiers who are ill and injured• Engagement of all Premiers and school boards to run concurrent events in their provinces on
May 9Over the past few weeks, True Patriot Love and Canada Company have been working with the Prime Minister’s Office, and the departments of National Defence and Veterans Affairs on ways to engage the private sector in order to demonstrate corporate Canada’s support for the soldiers and their families who have served, and continue to serve, our country.
Tribute Breakfast• On May 9th, from 8-9:30 am at the Convention Centre in Ottawa, True Patriot Love, in
partnership with Canada Company, will be hosting a Tribute Breakfast to the families of the fallen.
• There will be 1,000 attendees including:– The Prime Minister– Minister of National Defence– The families of the fallen (approximately 800 family members)– Celebrities, including Canadian Olympic Athletes– Representatives from corporate Canada– Representatives from military charities
Tribute Breakfast VIP Reception
• There will be a VIP reception running concurrently with the Tribute Breakfast in an adjoining location from 8:00-9:30 am with special remarks from the Prime Minister.
• Following the VIP reception, guests will be invited to join the Tribute Breakfast• Guests at the VIP reception, will include:
– Prime Minister– The Minister of National Defence– Corporate sponsors
