Day 3 – Wednesday, May 23, 2018 After breakfast, we take a guided tour of Scotland's capital city. We start our sightseeing by traveling through the heart of the city along Princes Street, famous for its shops on one side and gardens on the other. Next, we head to Carrubber’s Close, which was used as the Henderson’s Lodging House in the television series, Outlander. Then we take a guided tour of the imposing Edinburgh Castle, perched high above the city on volcanic rock. We continue on to see Preston Mills and Phantassie Doocot, which the set designers of Outlander, painstakingly modified so that it would look like the mill on the fictitious 18th century Lallybroch Estate in Season 1, Episodes 12 and 13. One of the more memorable scenes filmed here was when Jamie hid underwater as the redcoats stopped at the mill. After our visit, we are free for individual pursuits and dining in Edinburgh. OVERNIGHT: APEX GRASSMARKET PLACE, EDINBURGH

Day 4 – Thursday, May 24, 2018 This morning, we head to Pollok Country Park, one of many locations that Claire searched for herbs. Next, we visit Glasgow Cathedral, which served for the interior shots of L’Hopital des Anges where Claire volunteered her nursing skills and was brought when she starts having pain linked to her pregnancy. We will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before spending some leisure time in Glasgow, before heading back to Edinburgh for the remainder of the day and an evening of independent dining. Day 5 – Friday, May 25, 2018

We have a surprise in store for our group this morning! Following our surprise, we board our luxury motor coach and travel to the village of Blackness to visit Blackness Castle. The 15th century castle was used in Episodes 6 and 8 of Outlander. Not only was the castle used as a stand-in location for Fort William, it was also the filming location for the heartbreaking scene when Jamie gets whipped by the notorious Black Jack Randall. We continue on to visit the ruins of Midhope Castle, which was used as Lallybroch Estate. After our visit, we take a guided walking tour of the quaint village of Culross. It should be noted that the gardens of Culross Palace became Claire Randall’s herb garden in Season 1. Our final visit of the day will be to Muiravonside Country Park, which was where the Prestonpans Battle scenes were filmed in Season 2. After our visit, we drive to our nearby hotel in Stirling and check in for our overnight stay. This evening, our group heads to Torphichen Inn to enjoy an Outlander-inspired fun evening of Scottish food, music, and readings of excerpts from the Outlander novels. OVERNIGHT: HIGHLAND HOTEL, STIRLING

Day 6 – Saturday, May 26, 2018 We leave Stirling and drive to Doune to visit Doune Castle, which was first constructed in the 13th century but later had to be rebuilt in the 14th century due to the Scottish Wars of Independence. The castle doubled as fictitious Castle Leoch. We continue on to visit Deanston Distillery, to see where Comte St. Germain stores his wine during Season 2, Episode 1. Next, we travel to just outside of Perth to Tibbermore Church. It was here that the witch trial scenes for Season 1, Episode 11 were filmed. Then, we head to the impressive Drummond Castle Gardens to see the location that doubled as the grounds of the glorious Palace of Versailles in Season. After our visit, we drive to Inverness and check into our hotel. You may wish to relax in your room or freshen up before sampling the local cuisine. OVERNIGHT: PALACE HOTEL, INVERNESS

Day 7 – Sunday, May 27, 2018 We have another surprise in store for our group this morning! After this morning’s surprise, we travel a short distance to Culloden Moor to visit the battlefield and tour the Culloden Visitors Centre. It was here, on April 16, 1746, that British government forces defeated the Jacobite army of Prince Charles Edward Stuart in just one hour and ended hopes of restoring the Jacobite Stuarts to the British throne. During our visit, we will visit the Fraser stone, which is dedicated to all the Frasers who died tragically on that April day. Next, we head to Beauly and visit the Beauly Priory, which was founded in the 13th century. Diana Gabaldon used the Beauly Priory as the final resting place of “The Old Fox” Lord Lovat of the Lovat Frasers. Beauly Priory is where Claire meets Lord Lovat’s seer, Maisri. We stop for photos of Beaufort Castle, which is where Jamie and Claire speak to Lord Lovat in hopes that he will aid the Stuart cause. We then return to Inverness for a free evening. OVERNIGHT: PALACE HOTEL, INVERNESS

Day 8 – Monday, May 28, 2018

This morning we depart Inverness and journey to the picturesque town of Pitlochry. Upon arrival, we have lunch with our group at the Old Mill Inn. After lunch, we travel to Edinburgh and check into our hotel. Once settled in, you can sightsee, shop and dine on your own. OVERNIGHT: PRINCIPAL PLACE, EDINBURGH

Day 9 – Tuesday, May 29, 2018 There is so much to see in Edinburgh! Spend much of your day free to explore Edinburgh, where you can choose from a wide variety of activities. For example, you may wish to explore the Royal Mile, tour Holyrood Palace, visit the Scottish Storytelling Centre, which is a vibrant arts venue with live Scottish storytelling. You also may want to visit the John Knox House established in 1470, making it the oldest medieval building in Edinburgh. Then you might like to visit the Royal Yacht Britannia. While here, you can learn about the history of Royal Yachts and see exhibits and photographs of Britannia's intriguing history. Finally, you may stop at the Tartan Weaving Mill to see the inside of a working Scottish mill. Before you leave, you can even dress up in Tartan Weaving Mill, Edinburgh
