Write a narrative about something you did that you didn’t think you could do. Include specific details. April is Poetry Month, so this week we will look at the structure and theme of a few poems. Watch the video of Ms. Cumbee’s model poetry lesson. Both the poem and the analysis are available to view in Teams, under “Assignments”, they are titled Model Poem Lesson 4-14 & Model Poem Analysis. This instruction will guide you for tomorrow’s lesson. Go to your Newsela binder and complete the assigned “Teen rescues drowning brothers” Go to Microsoft Teams and under Files, click on the link titled, Poem 4- 15. Remember to read it at least 2-3 times to determine the structure and theme of the poem. Feel free to go back to Ms.Cumbee’s video from yesterday for any help. Then go to Microsoft Teams and under “Assignments” you will find the assignment, “Analysis of a Poem 4-15” use that document to analyze the poem and “Turn In” on Teams when complete. Go to Microsoft Teams, click on Files and then click on the link, April 16 th Video". After viewing the video then go to ”Assignments” to complete today’s work. All poems may be submitted via Microsoft Teams under “Assignments”, it is titled Poem 4-16 or if you are having technical difficulties, they may be hand written and submitted to your teacher at a later date or via email.
