Resilience
Personal resilience is described as our ability to deal with trauma, tragedy,
and all kinds of threats.
The more resilient we are the faster we will
bounce back from difficult experiences.
Community resilience is the existence, development and engagement of community resources to thrive in a dynamic environment characterized by change,
uncertainty, unpredictability and surprise.
However we cant bounce back we need to take this opportunity to
bounce forward or breakthrough to a new way of doing things
Resilience from a community point of view refers to
the capacity of a community to cope with stress,
overcome adversity and adapt to change
positively
• Inclusive, creative local cultures shaping a positive, welcoming sense of place• A localising economy that sustains food, energy water, housing and other resources• Strong links to other places and communities
