First Prize-winner in the 2008-09 Young Concert Artists International Auditions, violinist Bella Hristova makes her New York and Washington, D .C ., debuts in the Young Concert Artists Series this season . In addition to these debuts and engagements at numerous festivals in the U .S . and South America, her concert calendar includes a performance with the New York String Orchestra at Carnegie Hall and appearances as a member of Lincoln Center’s Chamber Music Society Two . A laureate of the 2006 International Violin Competition of Indianapolis, Hristova went on to win First Prize in the 2007 Michael Hill International Competition in New Zealand, making a critically acclaimed concert tour of the country and recording a CD of solo violin works for the Naxos label . Born in Pleven, Bulgaria, in 1985, Hristova has studied violin with Stephen Shipps and at The Curtis Institute with Ida Kavafian and Steven Tenenbom for chamber music, She is currently pursuing an Artist Diploma with Jaime Laredo at Indiana University .
