Data Convert A software that simplifies the process of converting from source to destination files. Data Convert makes it possible to transform the Project axes to make them compatible with other layout software and with Trimble equipment.

Installation To install the DataConvert software, it is necessary to execute the “setup.exe” file. Once it is installed and upon the first time of entering the program, a screen will appear requesting a code that will be provided once the form has been filled in and the email sent to soporte@al-top

Point Conversion This action makes it possible to convert a point file in ASCII format with the N,X,Y,Z,C or N,Y,X,Z,C structure (whether separated by commas, spaces or tabulators) to another one with a picture interchange format (DXF), to a Trimble Data Collector file (DC) or to a Digital Level (DiNi) file

DXF Outlet If there are duplicate points (with the same name) in the source file (ASCII), it will display a warning screen that will allow us to continue or cancel the operation. If, on the other hand, we activate the “Convert duplicate points” box, the conversion will take place automatically, with no interruptions due to point duplicity. Once the source file has been chosen, a file will be generated with the outlet format with the same name and in the same folder, which can be modified in both name and location. The generation parameters of the DXF are 1:1 and the choice of the scale only entails the size of the text with which the point shall be named. It is necessary to also choose the number of decimals and whether one wants to represent the points in 2 or 3 dimensions.

Processsing a tacheometric survey with a codification library In order to codify a tachometric survey on the basis of a codification library, first of all, we must go to the main screen of the “Point Converter” Data Convert and select the file type to be entered under "Source ASCII Format". We have "N,X,Y,Z,C", "N,Y,X,Z,C" and "Multiple Format", in which:

• N: Point number • X: X coordinate • Y: Y coordinate • Z: Z coordinate • C: Code of point taken •

Afterwards, under “Generated Format”, we must select "DXF". Likewise, under “Source File”, we must select the tachometric survey taken on field. The assignation of the name of the *.dxf file will be done automatically on the basis of the name of tachometric survey. If we want to apply the code library, we must activate the “Apply code table” option and, under the section “Code Table”, select the *.cod file. Likewise, if we have blocks that we want to insert into each one of the points taken, such as, for instance, the drawing of a tree, we will have to assign the location of the folder where the blocks are located in the section “Block Folder”. Such blocks, it must be pointed out, must be generated in *.dxf format, created in versions not inferior to Autocad 2007 and with the name of the file identical to that assigned in the “Block” column of the *.cod file. It is essential to note that, in this tachometric survey, in the code section, we must have the same codes assigned as in the library. If, during the taking of a set of points, defined by the same code, we want an automatic union line to be created, we will have to add the "-I" suffix to the code name in order to start the line and “F” to end it. What follows is an example: 1 99.762 186.182 0.000 101-I 2 117.668 204.063 0.000 101 3 138.259 200.487 0.000 101 4 150.793 214.791 0.000 101 5 174.966 209.427 0.000 101 6 191.977 231.777 0.000 101 7 214.359 226.413 0.000 101 8 220.626 242.506 0.000 101 9 263.600 234.460 0.000 101 10 278.802 264.300 0.000 101-F 11 111.401 157.573 0.000 102-I 12 123.039 172.772 0.000 102 13 151.689 168.302 0.000 102 14 162.432 191.546 0.000 102 15 191.081 187.076 0.000 102

Likewise, we can create these lines if the taking of points has been carried out in staggered formation, that is, if the two lines have been taken simultaneously on field, as long as we appropriately indicate the start and end of each line. What follows is the same example with the simultaneous taking of lines: 1 99.762 186.182 0.000 101-I 2 117.668 204.063 0.000 102-I 3 138.259 200.487 0.000 101 4 150.793 214.791 0.000 102 5 174.966 209.427 0.000 101 6 191.977 231.777 0.000 102 7 214.359 226.413 0.000 101 8 220.626 242.506 0.000 102 9 263.600 234.460 0.000 101 10 278.802 264.300 0.000 102 11 111.401 157.573 0.000 101 12 123.039 172.772 0.000 102 13 151.689 168.302 0.000 101 14 162.432 191.546 0.000 102 15 191.081 187.076 0.000 101 16 207.197 206.745 0.000 102 17 224.207 203.169 0.000 101 18 235.846 217.473 0.000 102 19 260.914 212.109 0.000 101-F 20 281.930 225.567 0.000 102-F

Axis Conversion

This allows one to convert a full layout (composed of the axis, gradient and/or transverses) with an ASCII format of the main road programs to the formats interpreted by the programs of the land survey teams.

The source format of the list is chosen: • CARTOMAP • CLIP • DATACONVERT • INROADS • ISPOL/ISTRAM • LANDXML • MDT • MXROAD • PROTOPO • HTRAZADO • SIERRASOFT • RXL

Subsequently to this, the output format of the list is chosen. It is not until this is chosen that the buttons for selecting the files will be activated. This makes it possible to select:

• DATACONVERT • CLIP • ISPOL • INROADS

Roadline 2D and Roadline 3D Outlets (Geodimeter CU) With the output to RoadLine2D, it is only possible to choose the site axes of each program. However, with the Roadline 3D outline, as the level is chosen, the gradient appears followed by the transverses.

The program proposes the same name as that of the source file. In the 3D case, the suitable endings are added (#1 for the level, #2 for the gradient, #3 and #4 for the transverses)

The “Pencil” button makes it possible to open the source file with the Note Pad.

The “Text” button makes it possible to see the file generated with a text display.

Assignation of Sections is where it is indicated which section applies to each part of the specific axis. In the tunnel, there can be various applied sections. The file where the section assignations are stored has the *.mtu extension. One must indicate the folder in which the templates are to be found (files *.sec) by means of the folder button.

Assignation of Sections: Selection of parts

On the table, we can see the pats of applied sections. Indicating the Initial and Final PK for a specific section. There cannot be a point (PK) with two applied sections. The Start PK of a part must differ in at least 1 mm from the Final PK of the previous part. One can Delete, Edit or Save this.

Assignation of Sections: Part assignation

This makes it possible to add new parts to an existing assignation of sections. For this, one must define the initial PK, the final PK and select the right section of the list (to be found in the "Sections folder").

Decompress XML Files

The decompression of XMLK file: this is a tool that decompresses a compact XML file generated by Inroads. In this type of files, it is a necessary previous step for making it possible to convert the file to plan, elevation and sections.

The first step needed is that of selecting the compressed file and then assigning a name to the decompressed file that will be generated. After Generate is pressed, the process of the decompression and writing of the new file is begun.

CD/CI Raw Data

The CD/CI Raw Data utility is applicable for the extraction of the raw data from the observations made on the basis of a *.dc file with a total station. By pushing the folder icon, we can choose this file.

The program reads the file and orders the observations made in accordance with the stations. Showing all the data recorded.

All the data shown can be exported in various ASCII formats, which are suitable for being processed in other programs such as MDT and Topcal. ASCII format exportations can be in full format or with the averages of the observations made.

Stationings

The stations are put in order and, with every station, we are shown:

• Observation number • Name of the base • Height of the tool • The scale Factor • The reference base • Prism height (m) • The constant of the prism • The Horizontal angle direct circle • The Horizontal angle in reverse circle • The azimuth typed.

Observations

The observations are ordered in accordance with the points and for each observation point, it shows:

• Number of observation from the base • Name of the approved base • Name of the reference • Height of the prism (m) • Geometrical distance (applying the prism constant or not) • Horizontal angle in direct circle • Horizontal angle in reverse circle • Vertical angle in direct circle • Vertical angle in reverse circle • Code or description of the point • Mean square error of the distance observation. • Mean square error of the horizontal and vertical angles.

Configuration

If we want to, we can configure the prism constant in the geometrical distances that it shows us (on the main screen it will indicate the configuration state), as well as the tolerances we want for the distance, horizontal and vertical angle.

Profiles from Roads to transverses

This utility allows us to convert transversal profiles taken on site with the Survey Controller software to the format of the transversal profile files of the natural terrain (*.TER) of the Clip office software office.

In order to process the files, one must have taken these profiles in the following mode: Survey >Stake-Out > Roads > Station and Axis d.

File selection

Pressing the folder symbol allows us to select the Survey Controller (*.dc) inlet file and create the Clip (*.ter) output file.

Apply Road Marks

On activating the tab, one can enter the alphanumerical code used by the user on site, which determines the existing road and allows Clip to treat it as such.

Apply Tolerance Factor

On activating the tab, one can introduce a numerical tolerance value of the Pk by profile.
