IndustryBlast resistant portable building
Complex industrial plants are subject to diverse standards and regulations. Nevertheless, the danger of accidents can never be excluded. To ensure the safety of personnel at the best possible level especially during inspections and maintenance work, blast resistant portable buildings are used. The working personnel use them as working area, common room and protected shelter in the immediate vicinity to the industrial plant concerned. A pressure shock resistant building may also be furnished as an administration building within a plant having limited space available.
DREHTAINER has developed a unique protection for them. This protection is a result of the long-standing experience in the development and manufacture of highly protected container-based buildings for the most different areas of operation and crisis regions.
Air-conditioning and toxic pollution
The choice of suitable air-conditioning in conjunction with the ventilation system of the building represents a decisive aspect in the construction. The size of the building and the planned usage of the rooms, for example for the installation of servers, directly influence the design of such system. So either a central air-conditioning variant may be selected or a variant which enables to control every room and/or individual container separately.
The protection against dangers by toxic pollution in the case of an accident can be integrated in every solution.
Container construction
DREHTAINER uses for these buildings its proprietary containers complying with the ordinary 10-foot or 20-foot ISO standards. These containers can be combined to customized buildings due to a docking tech-nique that has been tried and tested for many years. To meetlargerfloorspacerequirementscontainerbuildingswith 2 storeys have already been set up. The possible flexible arrangement of the interior walls enables theconfigurationofdifferentlysizedroomsaccordingtotherespective requirements.
The solid container construction allows many times to disassemble the buildings at any time and to set them up again at a different location.
Protection
The blast of an explosion represents a major threat to the building. The entire construction is designed to customer-specific requirements. For instance, loads of500 mbar at 200 ms pulse length can be absorbed.
Aside from the pressure shock waves, also the protection against secondary fragments is considered in the container construction design.
Equipment
Depending on the usage envisaged by the customer the most different functions can be implemented in such building. Conference rooms with presentation technology, monitoringandprocesscontrolrooms,officeworkplacesand sanitary facilities are only a few examples for the various equipment options for a protected building.
Fire protection and thermal load
Not only the safety hazards emerging from blast and secondary fragments have been taken into account in the DREHTAINER constructions but also the thermal load. Fire regulations and fire resistance classes have beenconsidered throughout the building and in the walls and doors.Alsomaterialssuchasinsulantshavespecificallybeen selected to meet these protective requirements.
