DESCRIPTIONBeta Prepregs are based on Benzoxazine resin chemistry. Beta Prepreg system takes advantage of the latestresin and nano-toughening technology to provide outstanding ease of use and performance. Beta Prepregs arestable for a minimum of six months at room temperature. Beta Prepreg has exceptionally low resin shrinkageduring cure and develops a very high glass transition temperature.
BENEFITS> Exceptionally long out-life allows virtually limit free tool fabrication time. Customers benefit from increasedwork crew flexibility and can work around scheduling conflicts. Larger structures are possible with a smallerwork crew.> The outstanding toughness, high glass transition temperature and stability at high temperatures ensure longtool life, reducing the cost of remanufacture and rework through product life.> Exceptionally low shrinkage improves tool surface quality and reduces need for part finishing. Low shrinkagealso reduces residual laminate stresses.> Very low moisture absorption in comparison to epoxy systems makes Beta Prepreg a perfect tooling choicefor moisture sensitive component resin systems.> Excellent post machining quality of Beta laminates allows machining of complex geometry details andmaintenance of very tight dimensional tolerances. The ability to modify tool surfaces following engineeringchanges reduces cost of new tool manufacture.> In comparison to metallic tools, Beta Prepreg composite tools are lighter weight tools for easier manualhanding.> Beta Prepreg composite tools have a coefficient of thermal expansion which can be matched to thecomponents.> In comparison to metallic tooling, Beta Prepreg composite tools have faster heat up and cool down rates forreduced production costs.> Beta Prepreg composite tooling laminates have vacuum integrity even after machining, ensuring high qualitypart manufacture by vacuum bagging in autoclave process.
