Elephant Armor™ Ultra-High Performance Asphalt Patch is a single component,
black all cementitious, iber reinforced with Strain Hardening Capacity and excellent
ductility, fast setting asphalt patch, that can be placed with a pumping system
speciically designed for micro trench. It ofers high early superior bond strength.
Elephant Armor™ Engineered Ductile Mortars contains Proprietary High
Performance Fibers that meet the requirements of ASTM C-1116 . In addition to
the mechanical bond our iber creates a fully engaged molecular bond within
the mortar matrix, providing high tensile and lexural strength.
Our patent pending Elephant Armor™ Engineered Ductile Mortars contain a low
embodied energy all cementitious formulation. This green technology product
reduces our carbon footprint, through resource conservation and reduced
landill waste.
Elephant Armor™ Asphalt Patch is designed to accept any textured inish matching the existing asphalt.
The strain hardening capacity of the specialized ibers within the Elephant Armor™ Asphalt Patch matrix
creates a Spall Proof Permanent Repair Solution.
The Elephant Armor™ Asphalt complete system provides exceptionally low permeability. It can easily be
pumped into place with a quick cure time, resulting in no delays in meeting your construction deadlines.
Installation Speciications:
1. Metro Nashville Public Works has approved GST Elephant
Armor™ Ultra-High Performance Asphalt Patch as the
reinstatement and drive surface for use in micro-trench iber
optic applications.
2. Elephant Armor™ Ultra-High Performance Asphalt Patch
shall be mixed and placed with an MTEC Mono–Fu mixer,
only by factory trained and approved installers.
3. Elephant Armor™ Ultra-High Performance Asphalt Patch
shall be batched with mixing water containing Elephant
Armor™ Set Delay during hot weather installation.
4. Remove all contaminants (e.g. oil, dust, sand moisture) from bond surface for proper adhesion.
5. The application process must include the Elephant Armor™ Primer spray applied with a GST 2 gallon
Pump Sprayer to the entire micro-duct trench. When the primed surface begins to turn blue/green
place the line pumped Elephant Armor™ before it dries and becomes tack-free. Approx. 10 minutes
based on ambient temperature and humidity.
6. The Elephant Armor™ Ultra-High Performance Asphalt Patch shall be placed as the reinstatement
material and rolled with a 4” Elephant Armor™ texture roller.
7. Elephant Armor™ Cure shall be spray applied with a GST 2 gallon Pump sprayer after the Elephant
Armor™ Ultra-High Performance Asphalt Patch material reaches initial set.
8. Prior to micro trenching, buried commodities will be located and exposed via coring and removing
material from the roadway within a 6” to 12” diameter pothole.

• Elephant Armor™ can be easily ground for future remediation (mill and pave).
Yield for Elephant Armor™ Ultra High Performance Asphalt Patch
• Yield for a 50lb bag is 0.39 CF.
• Yield for (1 gal.) of Elephant Armor™ Primer is 350 sq. ft.
• Yield for (1 gal.) of Elephant Armor™ Cure is 350 sq. ft.
Examples, Detail 1 Micro Trench with 6” proile will yield the following:
• 6.25 lin. ft. per bag of Elephant Armor™ for 1.5” width x 6” depth
• One mile = 846 bags (1 pallet = 56 bags, pallet weight = 2,900 lbs)
• Yield for Elephant Armor™ Primer is 18 gallons per mile
• Yield for Elephant Armor™ Cure is 2 gallons per mile.
Production Rates :
• The MTEC Mono-Fu Mixer has been ield tested at ONE bag
per minute of Elephant Armor™.
• 60 bags per hour with single machine and trailer = 375 lin. ft.
per hour at 6” depth.
• One 8 hour shift = 3120 lin. ft.
