Did You Know? 99% of Smartphone customers use less then 500MB /mth; therefore, a 500MB plan should be a good fit, for most customers.
What Is Data?
Data is digital information that istransmitted from one point to anotherpoint. In the wireless world, it is digitalinformation that is transmitted oraccessed on a wireless device. Thisincludes:
Internet browsing Sending / receiving e-mails/IM Downloading content Tethering Using mobile applications
Unites of Measurement
In the wireless world everything is calculated in Kilobytes. The chart belowidentifies the units of measurement that are used globally to measure data.
1 bit = 1 character1 byte = 8 bits1 kilobyte (KB) = 1024 bytes1 megabyte (MB) = 1024 kilobytes1 gigabyte (GB) = 1024 megabytes
Why Sell Data?
By offering and selling the appropriatedata option to your customer, you:
Minimize the possibility of productreturns or calls to our supportcenter for unexpected data charges
Allow customers to take advantageof using their wireless device to itsfull capability
Allows customers to take advantageof smartphone device subsidy ifthey purchase a data plan at salevs. post sale
Because customers are looking to domuch more than just talk on theirMobile devices, helping them pick theright data plan or Add-On based on
their device type and usage needs iscritical to the customer experience.
How is Data Calculated?
Let’s compare Data to Airtime
Data is billed according to the
volume of data transferred, not for
the amount of time a customer is
connected. Activities such as
browsing are calculated for each KB
of data that is downloaded.
Airtime is calculated based on the
duration of the call and iscalculated as follows: the time spent
between the second a customer
presses the Call/Answer key and
the second the connection is
terminated.
What can you do with 500MB of data on a Smartphone?
