Position Information
Location This position is based in region Darwin.
Description GTNT are now recruiting for a Plumbing Apprentice to work with one of our Host Businesses in Darwin. This fantastic opportunity is offering a CPC32413 Certificate III in Plumbing with full time paid employment.
Work Hours This position is a Full time apprenticeship, working 40 hours per week. You will be paid for 38 hours per week and accrue one Rostered Day Off (RDO) every 4 weeks.
To be successful in this role, you will have/be - Drivers license - A white card (or ability to obtain prior) - A genuine interest in the industry - Ability to commit to four years of training

Qualification Description This qualification provides a trade outcome in plumbing. Occupational titles may include Plumber, Plumber and drainer, Plumber and gasfitter , Gasfitter, Roof plumber.
Nominal Duration This qualification has a set nominal duration of 48 months. This is the amount of time you need to be committed to, for successful completion of this qualification.
Nominal Hours This qualification has a set nominal hours of 1864.

Program Content This training program covers units of competency from the Construction, Plumbing and Services Training Package. This qualification provides a trade outcome in plumbing. The qualification has core and elective unit of competency requirements that cover common and specialist skills for the plumbing industry in six specialist streams:
Stream 1 Water Stream 2 Sanitary Stream 3 Drainage Stream 4 Mechanical services Stream 5 Roofing Stream 6 Gas services
The plumbing industry strongly affirms that training and assessment leading to recognition of skills must be undertaken in a real or very closely simulated workplace environment and this qualification requires all units of competency to be deliv-ered in this context. Completion of the general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work (ASCC 2007) is required before entering a construction work site. Achievement of unit CPCCOHS1001A covers this requirement.
Registered Training Organisation (RTO) The training will be delivered by Charles Darwin University.
Study Mode The delivery mode for this qualification will be via block training. 8 weeks of training will be scheduled for Year 1 and 6 weeks will be scheduled for Years 2 & 3.

Core and Elective Units Units of competency from a minimum of four of the following six plumbing streams are required for award of this qualification. Stream 1 Water and Stream 2 Sanitary are mandatory. The following units of competency are required for award of this qualification: Stream 1 Water (mandatory): 24 core units and 5 elective units from the water stream. Stream 2 Sanitary (mandatory): 6 core units and 4 elective units from the sanitary stream.
