DARREE FIELDS ENHANCEMENTS

Specifications Supplement: Fitness Equipment

General Fitness Equipment Requirements:

Equipment must be manufactured to be protected from rust, corrosion and chipping. Manufacturing requirements are follows:

1. All equipment is constructed of SAE 1020 High Carbon Steel.2. The joints' welding is at least 2/5-1/2 inch thick.3. The bearings are made of cast steel with cast steel rollers, and do not require re-lubrication.4. All seats and stepping platforms are made of two layers of hand-shaped fiberglass.5. After fabrication and welding, all parts are cold galvanized for rust protection.6. All metal parts receive two layers (120-400 microns) of DuPont Powder Coat.7. An additional layer of polyurethane UV3 (450 microns) is applied to all metal parts for ultravioletprotection.

Installation

Use only heavy steel pipes and that are subject to heavy forces and torques when in use. Extra care must be taken to ensure that the equipment is securely installed so that it can be safely enjoyed for years to come.

All equipment shall be permanently installed in which the equipment post are surface mounted to concrete slab per manufacturer's specifications.

Only a licensed installation company must provide construction services to ensure that the equipment is installed correctly and according to manufacturer’s specifications. Provide a copy of the full installation instructions and equipment specifications to the City and to the Landscape Architect.

Color

Provide the City with color sample combinations for the equipment.

Warranty

Provide a 10 year limited warranty for fitness equipment.

Safety and Signage

Provide each equipment with proper signage and labels as intended for use and for recommended age group. Provide each installed unit with a safety label and a user guide label. Provide a large signage to identify the entire location.

DARREE FIELDS ENHANCEMENTS Specifications Supplement: Shelter Materials

Specifications Supplement: Shelter Materials 1

GENERAL SHADE STRUCTURE MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONS

Shelter Products:

1. Shade Structure by Superior Recreational Products, or approved equal:

Manufacturer’s Representative: James (Jamey) Snider Snider Recreation Cell: 1800-888-2889 Email: [email protected]

Submittals:

1. Submit shop drawings with structural, foundation/footing detail requirements 2. Submit stamped seal by manufacturer’s professional engineer on structural and footing

requirements, based on specific site location. 3. Color and material samples of powder coated metals

Inspection and Final Approval:

1. During and after construction, contractor must provide on-site inspection of the shade structures and shade sails by manufacturer’s structural engineer and representative.

General Structural member requirements:

1. All structural steel tubing utilized shall be ASTM A-500 Grade B/C (46 – 50 ksi yield strength / 58 – 62 ksi tensile strength)

2. All structural plates, gussets etc. shall conform to ASTM A-36 (36 ksi yield strength / 58 – 80 ksi tensile strength)

3. All welding is to be done in accordance with the latest AWS standards. 4. All welds shall develop the full strength of the weaker member. All welds shall be made using

E70XX .035” wire. Fabricated welded assemblies will be performed by manufacturer. 5. Hollow steel members shall be welded shut at termination points to prevent internal leakage.

(Baseplate to column connections excluded) 6. On-site field welded connections are not acceptable. 7. Field assembly connections will be indicated on the setup drawings.

Foundation general design criteria:

1. The foundation design is based on table 1806.02 of the building code, class 5 soil material. If different soil conditions are encountered, it is recommended that a site specific geotechnical report is conducted to determine the load bearing values of the soil.

Installation hardware:

1. All required fasteners are provided for construction of the shelter. Fastening hardware will be determined based on calculated engineering loads.

2. Uncoated hardware will be used in hidden applications and Zinc plated or galvanized hardware will be used in exposed applications.
