MOTHERFAVOURITE STORY

My mother’s favourite fable was:

“The dragon with seven heads”. In this fable a prince has to save the princess from a cruel dragon, but to do so he has to cross seven hills and face several dangers, until he manages to kill the dragon with his sword, save the princess and marry her.

FATHERFAVOURITE STORY:

My father’s favourite fable was:

«The sword in the stone»

which tells of a poor but honest child, that finds out to be the long-awaited king when he is the only one who is able to pull the magic sword out of the stone.

My father liked this fable because he admired the braveness of the main character.

FAVOURITE STORY:

My grandma’s favourite fable was:

GRANDMOTHER

“The dragon with the seven heads”

The same that my mum liked best!

My grandma kept telling it to my mum when she was a child.

GRANDFATHER

FAVOURITE STORY:

My grandfather didn’t have a favourite fable. What he can remeber from his childhood is a doggerel called:

“Pirein in sem un pire” («Pierino on a pear tree»)

It was a kind of tongue-twister in the dialect of our area.

My grandfather liked it because it was funny to see how many mistakes one made trying to say it!!!

MEMY FAVOURITE STORY:

It won’t be a surprise if I tell you that my favourite fable was:

“The dragon with the seven heads” !!!

Just as my grandma did with my mother, the same my mum did with me: I really loved listening to her telling me this old story !
