Congratulations to
Lewis & Linda for another successful…
State Convention
The Central Association thanks all the committees who have worked so
hard and so long to make sure that everyone enjoyed the 64th Florida State Square
& Round Dance Convention
“THE MAGIC OF DANCE WILL ENCHANT YOU”
22
“COMPETITION SQUARES
Rules & Process Dance level will be Mainstream.
Any calls from the “Mainstream” list may and will be called during the dance.
a. Square dancing will be fifteen (15) minutes of Patter. b. Each square must be in constant movement during the dance. c. If any “Square’s Judge” finds the participants of his/hers square have broken
down, the Judge will then raise a yellow flag and give the square a count of ten (10), out loud, to the beat of the music to allow the participants the time to get back into place. If they can repair their square and resume dancing with-out forming lines, they can continue the dance. This will only be allowed to happen one (1) time for each square. If they cannot repair the square, the Judge will black flag the square letting them know they should leave the floor as their participation in the dance is finished.
d. If after thirty (30) minutes, more than one square is remaining, the Fun Dance Callers will call for another fifteen (15) minutes, but will increase the diffi-culty level (Still at Mainstream).
e. In the event of a tie after forty-five (45) minutes, the squares will continue for five (5) minutes with even more increased level of difficulty (Mainstream level). The first square to get a yellow flag will be 2nd place and the remaining square will be the Winner

Wizards Lewis and Linda Wasserman would like to thank all the wonderful people who have brought the magic of dance to life at the 2018 Con-vention. We have had a fantastic time dancing all around the state and we hope that our experiences as chair of the Convention will motivate others to take on this commitment for generations to come. This has been a year of change for the Convention, and we are inspired by how well our fellow wizards have made everything come together to bring you what we hope is truly a magical experience.
With all the changes this year, your 2019 chair-people want to know what you liked, and what you didn’t. Please be sure to fill out a survey -- they will be used to plan next year’s Convention. And, get your ribbon for next year. You will want that.
Mostly, we want to thank you, the dancers, for your participation. We do it all for you, and we hope that the magic of dance will enchant you this week-end, and for many years to come.
Yellow Rocks,
Lewis & Linda Wasserman General Chairmen
