RE: RETIREMENT ANNOUNCEMENT

Dear MCEC Board Members:

I am writing to let you know that I will retire as Director of Mid Central Educational

Cooperative, effective June 30, 2016.

There is never a perfect time for this type of transition, but now is the right time. This is a time

of important transformation for MCEC and I believe that MCEC is well-positioned for theopportunities and challenges ahead.

MCECs employees are a dedicated and committed group of professionals. It has been my honor

to serve as this groups leader since 1994.

I am proud of what we have achieved during my tenure. MCEC has partnered with DIAL to

develop the virtual school, which impacts approximately 2,000 student enrollments each year.We have added the Wessington Springs School District, Ethan School District, and Wolsey-

Wessington School District to MCEC. We have partnered with the South Dakota Department of

Education to establish the Region 3 Service Agency. MCEC has also developed relationships

with several institutions of higher education and other partners to determine a more effective wayto deliver educational services in rural areas.

I will always cherish my time at MCEC. I remain enthusiastic about MCECs mission andbelieve in its future success.

I take this step in the best interests of MCECan organization to which I have dedicated over 24years. Outside of my family, friends, and faith, MCEC is the passion that matters to me most.

MCEC has its best days ahead. I am focused on a new chapter in my career and I know that I

can count on this Board and MCECs employees to do the same.
