BIBLE SOCIETY MASTERCLASS

The Year 11 cohort made it’s way to the annual Bible Society Masterclass last week where they were inspired and challenged by some high profile Christian speakers. It has certainly sparked some interesting conversations around current issues.

This year, our Chapel Band was privileged to be invited to lead worship throughout the day. The selected Yr 11s & 12s did an excellent job and represented the School very well. It was fantastic to join with many other Christian schools throughout Western Australia singing and playing in praise to God. They practiced for this event for months and the work paid off.

Thank you and well done to Joel, Asher, Asant’e, Vicki, Eli, Lyssa, Kiki, Juline and Julia.

Miss Pearce & Mrs Fenwick

Book week 2019 (continued)

Several activities have been scheduled for this week in the Primary School. Maths lessons have centred around children’s books, where classes rotated through different teacher’s lessons.

Students were lucky enough to have a visit from noted author, Wendy Binks (below).

Using the talk for writing process, classes have worked in mixed year group teams, to create an original story, based on Aladdin. Each class wrote one part of the story.

On Friday the whole Primary school will be dressing up, including staff, and parading their favourite book characters for all to see.

It continues to be a joyful week celebrating reading as our superpower!

General Food Science

The year 11 General Food Science students completed their task 6, The Big Bake-Off. Students worked hard to complete their baking goods within the 40-minute timeslot.

Each group had a different baking assignment as we were studying the dry cooking methods. Students presented their finished products to our lovely judges and Daniel Lobo walked away with first prize thanks to his technical and delicious choux pastry. Well done to all the year 11 Food students for doing an excellent job!
