Dairy Calf HealtHanD nutrition Course
About the WorkshopThis four-part course takes dairy farmers that are already proficient in calf management to a higher level of confidence. In this course, you will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to improve calf health and increase calf survival rates within your herd. Lunch will be provided.

• Setting growth goals
• Seasonal adjustments of diet
• Rumen development

• Determining when to wean calves

• Calf Illness: Common causes, early detection, signs/symptoms, prevention
• Treatment: Tubing or placing an IV
• Vaccinations
• Biosecurity
• Sanitation Procedures: boots, hands and instruments
