DAILY PRAYER, OUR STRENGTH AND OUR
SONG; OUR SUSTENANCE
SUNDAY MONDAY TUESDAY WEDNESDAY THURSDAY FRIDAY SATURDAY
27 ISAIAH 51:11
“Those who have been ransomed by the Lord (your name!) will enter Jerusalem
singing, crowned with everlasting joy. Sorrow and
mourning will disappear, and they (your name) will
be filled with gladness. What a beautiful scene this verse promises to us who follow Jesus! Live today and each day with that glorious confidence and
assurance!
28 ISAIAH 54:5
“Your Creator will be your husband; the Lord of
Heaven’s Armies is His Name! He is your
Redeemer, the Holy One, the God of all the earth.”
Wow! I don’t know about you but I am
overwhelmed with love for my God! Lift up your prayers of love for Him, and sing out His praises as you walk through this
day!
29 EPHE 6:18
“Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every
occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your
prayer for all believers everywhere.” There you have it. Straight from God’s Word. So do it.
Begin today.
REVIEW OF BIBLE
“Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that
no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as
children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people.
Hold firmly to the Word of life.” These are Paul’s
instructions to the church in Philippi, and continue to
instruct us as well. Pray for the Spirit’s transforming
refinement.

FLIP OVER FOR OCTOBER CALENDAR
“Sorrow is better than laughter, for sadness has a refining influence on us.” I much prefer laughter to
sorrow, but I find peace in knowing that sorrow will always partner with us through this life, as we
fight the consequences of a broken world. Be guided
by the Holy Spirit in prayerful response.

“I will live in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they
will be my people.” Pray that you live each day in step with the Holy Spirit,
ready to do God’s Will as it presents itself,
standing for justice and living in grace-filled
mercy.
Paul encourages the Corinthian church to
understand the principles of giving. That one must
continue to be responsible to those who depend on
them, and that giving must come from a response to Christ, not from personal
gain. Reorganize your giving portfolio with this
wisdom, praying for direction.

In our reading today in our One Year Study Bible we
learn that the Christian life is marked by a forgiving spirit and a generous concern for
those in need. Today in prayer reflect on your life,
perhaps confessing shortcoming while asking God to instill through His
Spirit a generous and forgiving spirit.
“Create in me a pure heart O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” I
believe I have prayed this verse more than any
other verse in the span of my lifetime thus far. If
this were the desperate cry of every Christian on a daily basis, what would our lives and ultimately
our world look like? Pray.
Paul reminds us that sharing the gospel
doesn’t require formal speaker training, rather a
heart that is open and learning daily from God’s
Word, and a humble willing spirit that shares a
simple story of God’s great love and mercy and grace for all his children. Pray for opportunities!
“Learn to do good. Seek justice. Help the oppressed,
Defend the cause of orphans. Fight for the
rights of widows.” Yesterday we prayed the
cleansing of our hearts and motives. Today we pray for
God to send us out, to serve, to love, to defend, to
protect the needy. Pray bold prayers today ladies!

Sometimes suering is a catalyst to draw us
closer, more dependent upon His sustenance. Lift up those in desperate
places, those who are suering, and bring
the love of Christ into their days with a prayer over them.
Read aloud Psalm 46:1-11 as you enter into
prayer. Be nourished by the attributes of
God as our refuge and strength, our help in
times of troubles. Call to Him with your
desperate cries and know that He is God, and Heaven’s armies
are among us.
“Here I am, send me.” A bold response to the call of God spoken by Isaiah. As followers of God, you also hear this call. Are you willing? Ready? Prayed up?
Dialed in? Dress in the armour of God as you
step into today, responding to the call.
The Prophet Isaiah imagines what the ‘day of the Lord’ will be like. The day of the Lord promises that final justice will come for everyone, both good and bad. Today, ask the
Spirit to guide you day by day to usher in justice
until that day.
Read these verses aloud letting the Spirit fill your mind with the beautiful
expectation of what is to come when Jesus returns again to usher in heaven!
What joy that day will be! We know the day of the Lord is
waiting until all have a chance to come to
repentance. Be a light, share your story, share His love!
Asherah poles were images of Asherah, a
Canaanite goddess who was the female consort of Baal. They were obstacles throughout the history of
the Israelites causing them to sin. Today, in
prayer, ask for the strength to remove the Asherah poles in your own life. Life a life of
singular worship of God!
But as for me, I will sing about YOUR power. Each
morning I will sing with joy about YOUR unfailing love.
For YOU have been my refuge, a place of safety
when I am in distress. O my Strength, to You I sing
praises, for YOU, O God, are my refuge! Sing your
prayers today! Sing praises to the Lord!

In our reading today in the One Year Bible we
find ourselves in Galatians, where Paul is
fighting to prove that it is the work of Jesus that has made us righteous,
not the law. That the Spirit leads us now, and
that a life of faith entrusts everything in
every day to God. Pray as the Spirit leads.
“The people who walk in darkness will see a great light…” Usually we read this account of Jesus coming at Christmas when we
ceremonially celebrate His birth. Today lift
thankfulness in prayer for God’s plan of
redemption.
“You are a tower of refuge to the poor, a
tower of refuge to the needy in distress.” Run
to the Lord in your desperate times, and
be physical representation of a tower of refuge for those in need, by
praying in the Spirit over them.
Worship is a natural response when our
brokenness is greeted by the strong arm of the Lord whose grace wraps us in His arms
and carries us. Reflect back on ALL He has done for you, filling
with joy as you let Him carry you under His
wings.
“Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t
get tied up again in slavery to the law.” What does freedom look like in
your life? Untie those bonds of perfectionism and shame. Run free in
prayerful praises!
“Use your freedom to serve one another in
love… love your neighbor as yourself…
let the Holy Spirit produce love, joy, peace, patience,
kindness, goodness, self control.” Make this
the prayer of your heart today for right
living every day.

love… love your neighbor as yourself…
let the Holy Spirit produce love, joy, peace, patience,
kindness, goodness, self control.” Make this
the prayer of your heart today for right
living every day.
“Those who are taught the Word of God should
provide for their teachers, sharing all
good things with them.” Lift up your prayers
over our pastors, teachers, mentors, and influencers. Be radically
generous in giving to them.
Our reading today finds us in Isaiah chapter 40
verses 12-31. We learn in these verses that our
world is not spinning out of control, our lives are not beyond His reach. We have a God who
loves us and wants the best for us. Pray in humble response.
God’s loving attributes are desperately needed
in our world today. Missions work is not just overseas. It begins right next door. Whom can you show kindness to
today? Who needs to be encouraged? Thanked?
Pray first, step out.
Each of us has unique God-given talents. In
addition, because of our ‘story’ we are given unique
strengths. Combining these gifts from God we are called to use them to build the kingdom of God
here on earth. How are you using your gifts? Pray for
understanding and opportunity.
“I pray that from His glorious, unlimited
resouces He will empower you with inner strength through His Spirit. That
your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. That you will
have the power to understand how wide, how
long, how high and deep His love is.” Amen.
26 PROV 24:3-4
‘Through wisdom a house is built, and becomes strong
through understanding. Through knowledge its
rooms are filled with all sort of precious riches and
valuables.” Consider your ‘house’, the inner temple of
your heart as you pray today. Walk through its rooms.
Does wisdom and understanding line its walls? Begin remodeling. Keep in
the Word and prayer.

How are you living each day as a follower of Jesus? Are you pursuing peace?
Intent on unifying the church as one voice that
lifts up the Name of Jesus above all else? Are you encouraging others, not
critical or self-seeking? Are you actively learning the
Word of God through consistent teaching?
Reflect in prayer.
A repentant heart is the central burning
characteristic of a follower of Jesus. Without daily repentance that comes from a desire to please
God and to become more like Him in our unique
selves, we are at risk of a hardened heart that cannot
be pliable and useful in kingdom work. Begin your prayers on your knees, in
confession.
“O Sovereign Lord, I can’t speak for you! I’m too
young! The Lord replied, Don’t say that. You must go
wherever I send you and say what I tell you. Don’t be afraid for I am with you and
will protect you.” Rest in the assurance that when
He calls you to do something, He will provide
all you need. Pray for direction, listen, then
obey—go!
“Heaven is my throne and the earth is my footstool…I will bless those who have
humble and contrite hearts.” As you pray today, image God sitting on His
throne with his feet touching the footstool of
earth. His majesty. His awesome Presence! And yet, He loves the humble
and contrite.
Who are the kind of people we should
honor? Paul reminds us they should be those who risk their lives for
the sake of Christ. Today, lift your prayers
over our mission workers and our
partnering churches around the globe.
In our daily reading today the discussion leans toward unanswered prayers. Why does God not answer our prayers in the time frame
or the way we would want? The lesson for us to learn is endurance as we continue trusting that God is God and we are not. His ways are ultimately good, and
for our best.
“Devote yourselves to prayer with a pure mind
and a thankful heart.” What would our world look like if we, who call
ourselves Christ followers, took Paul’s
exhortation to the Colossians seriously? Pray then journal your
thoughts.
“May the Lord make your love for one another and for all people grow and
overflow, just as our love for you overflows. May He,
as a result, make your hearts strong, blameless
and holy as you stand with God when Jesus returns.” Wow! I love this directive
Paul send the Thessalonians. This is my
prayer over you today.
What a beautiful description we read in
Jeremiah today about the faithful people of the
Lord. “Blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their confidence. They are like
tree planted along a riverbank with roots that
reach deep into the water, not bothered by heart nor drought, and never stop
producing fruit.”
Open yourself to His Presence today,
beginning your day in quiet solitude and filling with the Word of God.
Continue through the day intentionally seeking
Jesus. Close the day in quiet worship and
thanksgiving, falling asleep in His comfort.
I echo Paul’s prayer over the church in Thessalonica:
“May God give you the power to accomplish all the
good things your faith prompts you to do. Then
the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ will be honored
because of the way you live, and you will be
honored along with Him. This is made possible
because of the grace of God.”
If I could choose one verse as a mission statement for my life it would be: “Press
on toward the goal.” Phil.3:14 Today in psalms we read, “What joy for those whose strength
comes from the Lord, who have set their minds on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem.” Can you envision yourself on that road as you step into your day? Press on!
Do you see impurities in your life that need to be burned away? Ask
the Lord today in prayer to show you any
places of thought, action and lifestyle that are not delighting Him.
Allow Him to purify you, refine you, and
bring you to a pleasant and pleasing life that honors and glorifies
Jesus.
This is my prayer over you today from the
mouth of Paul. “Let the Word of God dwell in you,
filling you. Sing psalms and hymns to God, with
thankfulness. And whatever you do, in word
or deed, do it all in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, giving thanks to God the Father through
Him.” Amen
Make every day an opportunity to
reverently grow in wisdom, knowledge and love with Jesus. What an incredible
blessing His Word is for us, knowing He reveals Himself to us through
it. Let us not take advantage of our
freedoms to worship!
We read in these verses about the call to
excellence as leaders of God. This requires a great army of prayer warriors behind them. Let us be those praying women
who lift up our pastors, teachers, mentors,
leaders. Join a prayer circle, or find a praying
friend.
It is God’s love that draws us to Him, and it is our love that draws
others toward the God within us. Loving others isn’t easy at times, but praying for His love is the first step. Don’t
begin even one more day without asking God to fill you with His love.
Be expectant!
“Do not let anyone think less of you because you
are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your
faith, your purity.” In your prayers today ask the Lord to refine you and
bring you boldness and great love in your
testimony!
“Those who won’t care for their relatives,
especially in their own household, have denied
the true faith. Such people are worse than
unbelievers.”Pray as you take soul
care inventory. Care for those God has placed
in your family if you are able. God will provide.

Money is a dicult issue for most of us. All riches will someday be gone, so contentment is the aim of the Christian.
Love people more than possessions. Use money for God’s work. Freely share what you have. Pray for insight and
make changes.
“Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer; answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you. Save me, for I serve you and trust you… be merciful to me, O Lord, for I give myself to you. Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord, hear
my urgent cry.”
Let us sing this prayer all through the day!
“Satisfy us each morning with your
unfailing love, so we may sing for joy to the
end of our lives.”
When you pray are you willing to accept God’s answer, or are you only
intent on your own plans? In prayer today, lift up your petitions to God, and let go of the
need to control the answers. Just don’t let
go of Jesus!

Our One Year Bible reminds us today in our reading that it is
“easy to lose the joy of serving God when our troubles overwhelm us
and we lose sight of God’s care for us.” Let
your serving be motivated by prayerful
thanksgiving.

Today’s reading discusses pride and its destructive forces on
both nations as well as individuals. Take
inventory of your life and service for God. Ask God to point out and remove any pride you may be harboring.
Interesting to note that Paul includes among the
character traits and virtues of an elder that he “must enjoy having guests in his home.”
Consider this in your own life as an ambassador of Jesus. Invite people in to
hear about Jesus!
Titus is full of advice on daily living as followers
of Jesus and ambassadors of His
kingdom to come. Make of list as you read, asking the Spirit to grow those things in your that need maturing while you wait
for the day when the glory of God and Jesus
will be revealed.

Father God, I lift up my prayers over my sweet sisters who love You.
Would You grant them opportunity to show love and kindness to others today in Your Name? Would you bless them as they
reach out to this broken world? Would you fill them with Your joy? Thank you, Lord! We are grateful! Amen.
“The faithful love of the Lord never ends!
His mercies never cease. Great is his
faithfulness, his mercies begin afresh
each morning.” Worship in prayer.
How great is our God!
Paul writes to Philemon that “his love has given
me much joy and comfort, for your kindess has often
refreshed the hearts of God’s people.” Let us
have that same mindset. Let your
prayers be tangible acts of love.
