Key PointsStable locationsLocations with increasing cases
Atlantic City ,NJ(CBSA ) experienced increased cases partiallyattributable to the recent opening of drive -through testing.
Logansport, IN (CBSA) continued to show a sharp increase in thenumber of new cases, resulting in a 2 -day doubling time. This is largely
attributable to an outbreak at a meat processing facility .Sioux City (CBSA ), which includesboth Dakota County, NE andWoodbury County , IA , has shown a consistent doubling time of 3 daysover the pastweek . The confirmed cases have risen from 79 to 843 .
Washington, D . C . appears stable; however, many of the surrounding
areas in Maryland and Virginia show increased cases. The Mayorannounced expanded testingbeyond those that show symptoms, toinclude grocery store employees and other criticalworkers . The U . S .
House ofRepresentatives and Senate previously announced they
would return May 4th . The House announced on April 28th that it will
delay the start of the session due to concerns of increased casesin theD . C . area
Locationswith decreasingcases
Louisiana has shown a mostly declining pattern since its peak on
March 26th . Five ofthe nine regions within the state have shown adecline in new cases however, severalregions, including Baton
Rouge, continue to show increases in cases and hospitalizations. The
governor announced the state will extend the stay-at-homeorderuntil
May 15.
Locations to watch
Amarillo, TX ( CBSA) showed increasing cases partially attributed to anoutbreak at a meat processing plant in Moore County, TX .TarrantCounty , TX showed increasing cases partially attributed to newcases at the FederalMedicalCenter, a prison in Forth Worth .The governor of Texas plans to reopen all retail stores, restaurants,
movie theaters, andmalls on Friday, May 1stat 25 % of their listedoccupancy
